2008 Camry AC Blows Cold Air Not Strong?

Hi have 2008 Camry 114k which was given to me by a family member. Just put some money into it new struts.

Anyway and I don’t know if it’s me or not when I turn on the ac and on resirc the air comes out cold but when I put it through the fan settings like low to high and high to low it seems like the air should be blowing out stronger. I have ridden in a co workers 2009 Camry and his air is blowing out stronger.

Anything I should look out for or maybe can do myself or what could potential problem be.

Thanks!

Start with first changing out your cabin filter. (if you don't want to buy another, give it a good vacuuming and bubble bath. It could probably go another round.) Those things clog up quickly. Also if it lived under a shedding tree, that same area where the filter sits could use a vacuuming along with your windshield cowl area as leaves and debris are just like a shedding dog. Gets everywhere.... FAST!

I agree with 98CamryLE, you'll get better air flow after blocking the two vents near your side mirrors (one per side), and setting the air flow to only your dash. This isn't normal, I think there is a minor flaw in the plumbing works. I have a 2011 Camry and I also have this problem. It improved after replacing the cabin filter but it still isn't normal.

I had a 1995 Integra (that I very regretfully traded in, not for this Camry), never replaced the cabin filter and the air flow was strong coming from the dash even when not blocking the vent near the side mirrors, and at 50% fan setting. I have to say that at 50% fan setting in my 95' Integra's probably equals to the 95' Camry's 100%.

My opinion, I think there's nothing I can do about it, I gave up after replacing the cabin filter because I didn't want to dissect the dash area.

If you resolve or know the issue please share it with us.

I recommend getting an OEM unit from an online Toyota dealer parts seller. I paid $117 for mine. Some of the aftermarket replacements can be questionable. Cheers!

I think it was Norwalk Toyota, but I've also purchased from McGeorge Toyota and some others. It was probably 1.5 years ago as well. Cheers!

It may work for a little bit and then go back to lower speed, and then keep repeating that. That's what my Avalon was doing, so I just replaced it. No problems since. Cheers!

I own a 2003 Camry and my wife owns a 2007 Camry.

My 2003 made in Japan Camry has a blower that sounds like a leaf blower and it blows like one too on it's max setting.

My wifes 2007 Camry American made is whisper quite even at it's max setting but the amount of air it blows is not even 1/2 as much as my 2003.

Both vehicles have been that way since new.

Also my 2003 get's heat much much faster than her car does. Same engine 2AZFE 2.4L 4 cylinder but very different car's!

My wifes 2007 is really quite so if yours is making noise you either have something entangled in it or it is bad.

When they switched body styles they let Lear Seat's in Michigan design the entire interior. That is why the controls feel like shit and do not hold up, the soft dash material chunks and cracks, the steering wheel material chunks, cracks and wears away and the air flow and volume is completely different then the previous generation. It was the first time Toyota allowed an outside company to design and build the interior and it shows. My wifes 2007 has more buzzing and creaks and rattles as well even though it has been well maintained and is younger than my 2003. The seats are much more comfortable though in her 2007 than my 2003.

So if it is making a lot of noise you need to remove the cabin air filter and reach your hand in and see if a rodent built a nest in it.
