Does anyone have any rattles in their 2009 camry? Dash, seats, windshield, door panels etc....

Same here.. and it's coming from the Front passenger side dashboard.
I saw you posted a post on youtube regarding the rattle noise coming from the front dash speaker. Yesterday, I pry open the speaker cover to see if there is any rattle noise from there, then I realized that my 08 speaker mount is made by plastic, not like the metal plates shows on the youtube clip :( Now i really have no idea where was the noise came from....

I heard a rattle the other day. It was the passenger seatbelt that had got twisted when retracting and was hitting the B pillar trim. Simple fix of turning the seatbelt so it would fully retract.

That was my first one in 24 months and 26,000 miles.

Thanks for the notice. The seat belt will cause some noise if it's not proper retracted. When i did my rattle noise test drive, I buckled up the passenger side seat belt so it won't hit anything, but the rattles still coming out from somewhere in the front instrument panel. Like Geoff said, only happened in Cold weather, so I will have to wait till winter to come to spot the problem again :)
(I think there is a dashboard rattle TSB for this, too, T-NV008-07-Instrument Panel Rattle Noise.)

My dash rattle problem was solved by pushing a small piece of foam rubber into the dash areas adjacent to the speaker plates, pushed as far as it would go using a thin ruler. No more cold weather rattle.

I am confident that the 2009 models will be less prone to rattles. I test drove a 09 Camry SE V6 last Saturday and I noticed that the build quality is significantly better than my friend's 07 XLE I4. I noticed fewer interior gaps, especially the infamous gap on the right hand side of the center stack. I think Toyota's quality control has improved a lot since the model's launch.

i have an 09 le v6. this is what i've heard so far:

-something in the middle air vent which sounds like its flapping when the fan is turned on at middle speed
-a squeak in the driver's side seatbelt. if i move forward slightly i can hear it which is very annoying because it's right next to my ear
-a faint electronic sounding buzz when i gently squeeze brakes (intermittent)
-a ticking sounds coming from the steering column when I go over bumps (intermittent)

Other things which really (!!!!) annoy me:
-a very badly trimmed plastic piece on the passenger door plastic (the part which surrounds the power window switch).
-the upper dashboard piece surrounding the clock does not sit flush with the rest of the dashboard
-the plastic surrounding the middle vent does not sit flush
-one of the rear seat fabric has some bunching

admittedly i'm pretty anal so for most people they won't care but it just really bothers me. this is my first new car (and my first import).

so far with about 3,000 on the clock this is what I notice...
the dash where the guage console is rattles very regularly and it can be heard if the
radio is not on.

the dash where the clock is near the windshield always rattles.

the driver door pod where the switch's are makes a rattling noise as well

the brakes do make an electronic sort of chime or ringing noise when under light braking

Driver Seat Belt Rattle

2009 XLE Camry w/1k miles, Driver seatbelt rattles at the height adjuster. Right next to my ear, very annoying on rough roads. The dealership has attempted to correct it but seems to be worse. They stated it contains a "Brake System" designed to tighten the belt in an crash and it's the reason for the rattle. I don't hear it on the pass side.

Does anyone know what could be done to correct this issue? I would like to resolve it while it's under warranty.

I thought I was the only one! Mine doesn't exactly rattle, but it squeeks :( Whenever I slowly move forward something in the belt assembly right next to my ear gives off a squeeking noise.

I haven't had time to take it in, and truthfully I don't know even know if it's worth mentioning (they may make it worse in the process).

My moonroof rattles when opened all of the way, from the wind.
I have read that this is a common problem with the Camry since
I joined this forum. My car is a 2009 Camry SE.

Baloney........

I've been on this forum for 2 1/2 years and can say it is NOT a common problem based on posted threads.

Mine has no rattles, open or closed.

Update, My dealership kept the car for 1 month waiting on parts. They thought it was the drivers door panel causing the squeek/rattle. They ordered a new panel, still have the same problem ONLY when the door panel is on the door. If you remove the door panel the noise stops. Now they want to replace the entire door. (YIKES) I'm not sure I'm ready to replace the door on a brand new car with only 1K miles.

Anybody have any alternate suggestions?

I have an 09 Camry SE and it makes some type of noise around the navigation unit, where, I'm not sure yet... But it did this since I bought the car (brand new)... And also the passenger rear suspension or something back there makes a noise as well when turning onto an uneven road...

WOW, your lucky they are replacing your car over just a broken weld. Is this Toyotas doing or your dealer? Im surprised they dident just replace the door.

is the rattle problem related to the type of plastic used inside the Camry? Does Lexus have this type of plastic? Do they have the same rattle problem?

It's mainly the dealers decision to swap cars with me.. Toyota want's the door back so they can determine what happened and ensure it's not going to be a pattern. I expressed my frustrations over replacing a door on a brand new car and the dealer is just outstanding in all of their customer service so I'm not surprised by their decision. They tried a new interior door panel but that didn't correct the noise. I'm not sure about a Lexus having the same noise. I suppose if it uses the same door and it turns out to be a pattern failure, it could have the same rattle. However, I'm thinking this my be an isoloated issue.

Now that is the way Toyota needs to handle the problems with the new generation of the Camry. My boss has a new one and it creaks and rattles. He drove my 95 and liked the fact that it had no rattles or noise after all these years and figured the new ones would be even better. I told him about TN and that there were a lot of good people here that could offer advice. I also told him to use the search so he would not get bitched at by.......

I know im new here, been lurking a while....

Just wanted to say, I have a 09 SE with about 5k miles on it...Had a terrible squeak under the drivers side dash. Sounded like it was comming from under the speaker...Took it in and they fixed it under TSB...

They installed an Anti Squeak Dash Kit...

Also had them check out a vibration in the back...They told me it was "The nature of the Vehicle"...They said the tires get flat spots on them if they sit overnight in the cold and there was nothing they could do...

You would think they could put new tires on for me...But they said tires were not covered under toyota's 36k mile warranty...

But i did get the dash fixed...

Regarding your tires - I have a 09 Camry that HAD uniroyals on it and I had the same problem with the vibration. But it would go away once your "warm them up" 10 miles or so. I never had this problem with my Prius w/goodyears on it.
Upon some deep investigating I ended up speaking to a uniroyal mgr at a support center and he informed me "well, you can than your federal government for that, those tires are operating as they should." Apparently Firestone/Uniroyal was made to make a "latex" or some type tire capping material because of all the issues they had with the ford explorer rollovers, this is what causes the flatspots. I took it into service - overnight of course, cause they tires have to be cold. Service Mgr felt it and thought it was odd, apparently he asked Toyota what to do about it and they did not get back to him in a timely manner and he swapped the tires w/the Michelins that come on the hybrid model - and I got to tell you my car rides and handles like a dream! Good luck.
