At about 70,000 miles, headlights began to flicker. Bought around this time last year, 2020, from a dealership. Bought a warranty, too. Returned the car in Jan 2021 to have it fixed. I was told I first had to pay to get new bulbs and if that did not fix the problem the warranty would cover replacement of both lights' "driver". They want around $1,200 to do the work. I suggested they should be able to test something (the driver(s)) and suggested Toyota must have a record of flicker problems and the records should show how the problems are solved -- without charging the customer for the troubleshooting. "Well, that's not how it's done."
I had burnout problems with my 2007 Avalon and became VERY dissatisfied with Toyota's response -- not a "recall" but the dealership sucked down the cost (dealership told me $2,500-3,000) the first time of the failures (out on a 3,000 +- trip), but wouldn't acknowledge it was THEIR engineering problem causing the issue.
I feel like I'm being taken to the cleaners again by Toyota. Help??
