2011 Camry LE: Cabin Fan Blowing Warmer than Usual in middle position

After brining my 2011 Camry in to the dealer to diagnose an airbag light issue (I need a new airbag clock spring) - my cabin fan blows warmer air than it did when the dial is in the neutral / middle position (between blue / red). It had been similar to the outside temp or slightly cool in the middle position where I usually keep it - now it's slightly to kind of warm.

My AC still seems to work. Turning the dial significantly into blue territory also seems to cool the temp down from the now somewhat warmish middle position. Any idea what might have happened and how to fix?

Buy a meat thermometer. A basic one from Walmart or Target will be just fine.

When the temperature outside is at its highest, start up your car and turn on the AC. Make sure you have it set at it’s coldest setting with the fans blowing at the highest speed and with air flow on recirculate.

Don’t turn off your AC or change any settings. Let it run as is for several minutes.

After a few minutes, place the metal rod part of the meat thermometer inside each and every air vent. Leave it inside each air vent for about a minute. You can now turn off your AC.

Is there a big difference in air temperature from one air vent to the next? If yes, which air vent is producing the coldest air and which is producing the least cold air.

What is the average temperature of the air coming out of the air vents?

Thanks for the info. My issue isn't that there is a difference in temp one side vs. the other.

The issue is that when the fan dial is in neutral territory (i.e. in the middle, between blue and red), and the AC is off, the air is still warm (i.e., warmer than outside/ambient temperature).

Dialing it further into the blue/cool territory, the air does cool down, but not until it's 1/2 of the way or more into the blue territory.

Dialing it to max AC, the AC kicks in/on automatically.

Beyond the neutral/middle position to the right/red area, the air gets progressively warmer as it should.

But again, the issue is it's too warm in the middle position and doesn't get cooler until quite a bit into the blue.

I'm pretty sure it had been cooler in the middle position and didn't have to go as far into the blue to get cool.

The AC & heat both seem to work fine.

Some other things:

I'm dealing with mice or chipmunks in the cabin filter with a bunch of material in the blower. I've cleaned the filter and removed the material from the blower.
I am waiting for a new filter.

I imagine it could be related. Maybe some nest material is blocking the operation of something HVAC related?
I'm going to try to put wire mesh over the air intake under the cowl as well as peppermint oil on the cabin filter and around the engine.

Hopefully they haven't eaten any wires yet.

I've read setting the controls to recirculate keeps certain doors closed that could keep mice out but have also read they default to closed when the car is off.
Can anyone clarify?

I've read in some places that issues like this (i.e. HVAC controls not working as they should) could be related to the damper servo, which looks to be at least 2 parts - 871060E140 & 8710607140.

The little motor (8710607140) is less expensive and seems like it would be easier to replace than the piece (871060E140) it fits onto.
Most videos I've seen replace this (8710607140) little motor piece to fix similar issues.

Does anyone know where the blend door servo is for a 2011 Camry LE VIN start w/ 4?
Some videos show passenger side, others show driver or both, I think for dual control systems. My car is not a dual control system.

Or maybe it's the control unit with the dials? I think I've read they could go bad too?

It would be great to hear from someone who has had or fixed, or knows how to fix, similar issues.

Thanks!
