Has anyone seen any photos of the 2013 Avalon? Isn't it due out very soon? My dealer has few 2012 in stock so it makes me think the 2013 cannot be too far away.

Hope that is true. I mean why did they change the front end and rear and calling that a new look. If anything, it was refreshed. They are supposedly going to make it more euro style which I am completely fine with but I do hope they keep the LED tail lights. I love that on the current avy

Here is a spy shot of the rear. It's looks hot!!

Does that look like the rear of a current gen Hyundai Sonata to anyone? Needless to say I hope they get it right with the restyle as many newer cars don't look as nice in current gen offerings to me. I perfer the previous Camry, 4runner, and Tacoma to the current ones. And I had a 3rd gen Acura TL, after seeing the 4th gen it is horrid in comparison. I hope the new Avalon doesn't follow a similar path as I like the most recent redesign, hopefully they can keep it classy and clean looking.

I'm sorry to see they've succumbed to the Christmas Lights Around the Headlights fad..... hate that.

The Avalon always had the silly "old man's" car perception foisted on it because it offered substance over advertising flash.

Despite all the tv ads, you may have noticed, unless you spend weekends at a racetrack, that the difference in your daily drive between being in a Yaris and a BMW M3 really isn't that great. Between the density of traffic and the quality of most roads these days, there's really not much opportunity to "feel the performance" in a car.

So what matters? Boring things, like safety, reliability, durability and comfort.

An Avalon is going to be far better than a Yaris on a 14-hour highway cruise simply because it's quieter and smoother, so less taxing to travel in.

But yes, by advertising propaganda standards, those are "old man" values. The fact that many younger people have tuned into their relevance as well may be a sign we're all getting savvier about car buying.

An Avalon that is comfortable and near-indestructible and spacious and that will go 400,000 miles and last 20 years is a threat to the rest of the auto industry. :)

Beautiful?

KIA Optima Part II - but the styling is not all that bad. Both are quite attractive.

Optima. Ford Fusion. Chevy Impala... it's going to be hard to tell which is which. Won't really matter much. The average buyer for the Avalon is 66 years old. Hopefully this redesign will help that...

I Dunno How I Feel About It Yet...The 11/12 Model Just Grew On Me....The Grill Reminds Me Of The New Camry(Which I HATE!!)...I Like The Back End...Props On The Interior...Still Has That Spaceship Look...I'm Considering Hitting The Auto Show This Weekend....

true, they all look the same now... but i really love the Avalon's interior.....and we (sorry about this) now have a Ford Explorer, hence why I have been absent from the forums for a while, but it has the touch sensitive buttons for MyFord Touch. They arent the really fancy gloss ones, but the ones a step below, and they are just like whats in this new avalon, and i love them! So I like this interior, love the side profile and rear end, but the front is something unique to my eye, and I actually really find it attractive...

Absolutely beautiful interior. Nothing will beat it for the price. I mean it has leather just about all over the place. Simple design yet elegant. NICE chrome trim unlike Buicks where every single part of the car is doused in chrome. Let the haters hate. Honestly, the only competition against the Avalon are Audi/ Mercedes/ and Lexus ( Hard to believe it will compete against its parent company) Nothing comes close to this in terms of price and what you get for it.

From the rear, it looks like at of the above and a partially Dodge Charger. Those exhausts? I talked to my service rep at Toyota yesterday, the tail pipes are show, (look nice) but add nothing to the performance. I was told only 2 models, no more XL, but who knows later. That crazy emblem DOES make it look a little like a Hyundai. Still don't know whats under the hood? .....Hmmmm

I like the side profile, rear deck and inside look "nice" who knows, maybe all hard plastic just like some current Toyota.

The front looks like the current Camry which is not my favor (the new Toyota face?). Now, I wonder if toyota, Kia, ford.... have designers work together, trading idea. How come everyone is coming up with same style, front, back, even to the light. OK not 100% but very close, don't you guys agree?

Well they declined to answer any questions about powertrain. Maybe new v6? It would be sensible since that engine has been used for a long time.

@ the Hyundai and Kia. They copied Toyota. People are quick to jump onto something but resistant to change their mind. Btw styling was done by the Calty group so if you say they copied Hyundai/Kia, thats like saying Calty copied the same design of some concept that hasnt been designed yet by Hyundai/Kia

It is the other way around :whatwhat:
