So over the last month I've been trying to put an OEM Toyota 6.1" display into my 2010 Corolla S. Looking online I saw people doing this With other Toyota vehicles such as into a Prius. Or from a 2013 Tacoma into a 2010.
I don't want any of the aftermarket head units.
I've tried both the 57055 and 57056 face plate ones which are off Highlander and Corolla respectively.
I bought the 28pin to 20pin adapter needed for I believe the aux and steering wheel controls. Bought the antenna adapter.
So far I've tried both radios and everything works but I get zero sound. Usually when you turn the volume knob or press the volume controls there is a drop down bar that shows what level volume you are on.
I took it to the dealer and initially I was told since the radio is from a highlander the stock amp on the Corolla (which I don't believe I had because it's non-JBL) doesn't allow it to work. So I bought an OEM Corolla 2013 touchscreen and that isn't work either. I made sure the car and radios are both non-JBL
Anyone have any suggestions?

i have also been trying to do this with 2013 radio on my 2010 with no success. I don't have any adapter for 20 to 28 pin tho so I blamed my lack of sound on that.
In any case, radio started, no sound, but the harnesses are different. Can anybody confirm if this is even worth investing any more time in or it would not work?

Does anyone please have a link to this 20-28pin adapter, or have a part number?

Thanks! I didn't know about the 20-28pin adapter! :D I'll have to get this, I did get the antenna adapter though, I'll report back with results and I've upgraded from the Base 2013 radio to the 6.1' Display Audio (57056 = no nav).

Okay, so I had this SAME problem. Turns out you have to disconnect the lead to the wire going into pin8 (the beige wire) on the 10-pin connector, as it's the amplified antenna output and it mutes the radio's audio. Now my new OEM Display Audio, has audio! :D

For reference, I found that information here: http://priuschat.com/threads/2012-prius-base-bluetooth-radio-into-2010-2011.107271/page-2

here's what is mentioned: "The beige wire going to pin 8 on the 10 pin connector needs to be disconnected (its the amplified antenna output) and it mutes the audio on the 2012 radio

I connected this beige wire (antenna amplifier 12v supply) to the switched 12 v accessory supply at pin 3 of the 12 pin connector (gray wire)"

Bumping this up because I'm currently trying to put a 2012+ touchscreen headunit into a 2011 and can't find a part number for the surrounding trim piece. I'd even do an aftermarket double din dash kit. I'm just not sure what would fit. I obviously prefer to buy the OEM part but can not find it online anywhere.

As someone with a 2013 I would ask, "Why bother?"

I think my touchscreen is useless; no navigation, no Sirius/XM, no backup camera... the only advantage I see is that if I use my phone with bluetooth, the screen can show caller info, phone book, etc. That's about it.

But good luck either way!
