When you use the fob, can you hear the door lock actuator make noise?

Years ago, I had a Honda accord with a bad door lock actuator. When I hit the lock or unlock on my fob, I can hear the lock make noise and it would move some.

Open each door one at a time and trigger lock on the fob first. Then repeat the process with the main switch at the drivers side door. Repeat again at each door including RR.

When you replaced the fob battery, what was the condition of the board? After time passes and the fob gets dropped, it causes damage to the solder joints or the board itself. Need to look closer at the board.

It’s weird that 3 of 4 door lock actuators fail at the same time or gradual.

 

Thanks, I'm kinda thinking it is the Body Control Module? Both fobs work the same, and I have tried several scenarios of working the doors. I even disconnected battery for 1 hr to try and reset anything. Any other suggestions?

 

Try testing the door lock module for the keyless entry. It should be on the passenger side c pillar.

 

Thanks for that. Any tips on how to test? If I found a used one do you think it would have to be programmed for my car? I should also add, the buttons on the driver and passenger door armrests also work as the fobs, not unlocking or locking all the doors etc. Do you know if all operations go through the door lock module? Very little info on the internet..

It would need to be re-programmed.
I tried to find out if my daughters corolla receiver could be swapped with my corolla while doing some trouble shooting and it can't.
Her unit had stopped working and would not work in my car with either key
My unit would not work in her car with either key - only in my car with my key

Sometime later, her remote locking feature started working again - no idea why.

 

I’ll send you something by DM tomorrow. It’ll give you an idea. But from what I know, it all goes through the integrated relay under the dash. This is before it gets distributed through the fuse box.

 

I believe the driver door switch assembly has its own computer that controls the doors by sending a signal to each door but I’m not positive on the back doors. I’d get an eBay special and swap it out.

 

We know the door lock control is functioning with the fob, but only on the right rear door. Need to test the door lock control since 3 of 4 aren’t receiving the signal to trigger the door lock control.

Location of the door lock control is behind the passenger right rear c pillar trim. Not sure how much they are in the junkyard nor do we know if the 9th gen corolla uses the same part and part number.

Then the other issue is the door lock control from the main control switch. Might be related especially if the signal goes through the same door lock control and then back to the doors.
