I am looking for some good replacement speakers for my 2014 Highlander XLE. I don't really want to bother with replacing the head unit or installing an amp so I am looking for good suggestions for some direct, plug in and screw, replacements. I am mostly focused on the front door speakers since one makes an unbelievably annoying rattling noise. Please drop any suggestions!

I have been thinking about replacing all 4 door speakers for my 2016 XLE with the same exact requirement as you; but, i am going to hold-off unit next year at this time. Per my research, regardless which brand of speakers you get, I would suggest to make sure the speaker specs are with/exceed the list below:
- sensitivity of 90-dB or higher,
- Impedance at 4-Ohm,
- minimum 2-way or 3-way speaker design,
- rubber (avoid foam) surround material,
- wattage wise between 100w to 150W is plenty
and make sure you get the correct adapter and wiring connector for each aftermarket speaker to fit the HL doors. No, I did not research nor plan to change the two corner dash speakers.
