Left headlight fails intermittently. I can shake the small connector on the ECU and the light comes back on.
Unplugged the connector and it looks like there is a burnt pin, but not sure if that is the problem or not.
Does the ECU control headlights?

Are you sure it’s the ECU, they typically have 2 large connectors and 0 small ones? do you have HID headlight? Ballast maybe? If wiggling a certain connector either causes or alleviates a problem, I’d focus on that connector and the wires to it.

 

i'm not sure of anything with this problem. one "machinic" looked at it and showed me a burnt pin on the ECU and said $1800 to fix it.

 

We'd need more explanation and maybe some pictures to help you further. Pictures of what the mechanic showed you as well as specific details of what is happening, what changes may have been made to the car recently, etc, would be useful.
