Hi. I purchased a 2018 Camry XLE. It is not getting anywhere near the mileage it is supposed to. I have 1100 miles on it now. I am getting about 22 to 23 miles per gallon. I am not a leadfoot driver. I am running it on ECO. I have been running the air conditioning because it is very hot here. Is anyone experiencing similar mileage?

Hi there, and welcome to TN!

I moved your thread over to the 8th gen Camry forum where you'll be more likely to get some replies.

Gas mileage ratings are made by people who drive extremely fuel efficient without the A/C on or windows down increasing drag. Running the A/C consistently usually costs us 2-4mpg. I'd say 24mpg is about average for full city driving which is what I’m also getting in my XSE 2018 I4. Highway is where this cars mileage shines and oont forget any added weight hurts your gas mileage too, so extra passengers and stuff stored in the car ect... I'd also double check your tires air pressure if you've never done this.

The first thing I did was convert my tires to Nitrogen at Costco since Nitrogen lasts longer than Air and doesnt expand and shink like air does in our tires when the temperatures change.

The air you are breathing is 80% nitrogen.,

I bought my SE on Halloween of 2017 with 300 miles. Currently have 11,500 miles on it. When I do strictly city driving (Philly suburbs), I get anywhere from 280-325 miles per tank. When I do only highway driving, I get between 425-450 miles per tank. My daily commute is a mix of backroads and some lights, and I usually get about 380 miles per tank. Hope this helps!

I only drive around town, which is mostly sitting at red lights with the car running, but going nowhere. I have put less than 1000 miles on my I4 Camry XSE, so I have not checked my mpg, but as many red lights as I set thru here in Pensacola, I would expect it to be low.

I have about 5,000 miles on my 2018 XLE and I'm getting about 32 mpg combined. I do a mix of highway and city driving. I did notice that my first one or two tanks of gas weren't great, but it seems to be improving. I think I'm getting about 360 miles per tank.

I seriously doubt anything is wrong, make sure you have at least 35 psi cold in tires, I suspect it will break in somewhere between 5-10k miles. fuel type wont matter, regular should be ok. remember pure highway miles will yield high MPG, combined or just all "in town" will be lower.
I recently sold my 08 Tundra that was averaging 12.0 MPG !!! :surprise:

I've discovered through years of driving the 2GR-FE variant V6 engine that it's happiest at 80MPH. I'm assuming this is exactly why they put that number dead top center of the Speedo.
I don't have a newest gen, both my 07 XSE V6 and 11 SE V6's typically freeway cruse around 27-28 MPG. I know engines get better as years progress, but if the 2018 V6 is similar to my wife's 2011 Lexus GS 2GR-FSE, then you guys have a very nice and techno savvy engine. However that AWD layout of the Lexus is pretty gas unfriendly and the Lexus GS platform is one heavy beast at ~4200lbs which is nearly 1K heavier than the Camry. It gets roughly 23.5 MPG but is also happiest at 80...
I'm really hoping they come out with an AWD Camry as that is the one I'd go for. Heck, they could just drop in the brand new RAV4 Hybrid layout which is AWD and gets estimated 45MPG. Now that's one I'd go for! >:D 0:) And be a bit more Earth Friendly...

I'm constantly getting 32 mpg driving 40% suburbs / 60% highway 80 miles a day on 235 wide tires. To work i almost get no traffic and dash summary when I switch the ignition off shows 35-36mpg and when I return I hit traffic and dash shows 29-31. It's tiny bit better from my 2016 which is on 215 wide tires.
