I changed the coolant in my 2019 V-6 this afternoon. I didn't find any threads here for the 5th Gen coolant change so I'm sharing my experience.
There were a few challenges, I'd say it is one notch harder than changing your oil. My local Firestone shop wanted $150 do do the job. I did it for about $40 for fluid and the no spill funnel kit.
I found this video helpful:
Steps taken:
The radiator drain petcock
Block petcock opened, I should have tried to get my hose over that. I had to use two pans to catch the flow, made a little mess. And tool to open the awkward to reach petcock

Steps taken:
- Set the E-brake and put the car up pretty high on jack stands.
- Remove the front valance panel (removing and reinstalling those panels took half the time) I had quite a bit of debris in my valance, including some broken plastic bits likely from the deer I hit two years ago.
- The petcock was an easy reach. I attached a short length of hose thru an adjacent hole and onto the fitting.
- Opened, I drained just over a gallon of liquid.
- Getting to the engine block drain was a little trickier, particularly since another valance panel had to come off and my jack stand was pinning it in place.
- I used a 1/4" drive ratchet and two long extensions, with a 10 mm flex socket to loosen the drain petcock.
- About 3/4 of a gallon came out. Tightened it back up.
- I used a "No Spill Radiator funnel kit" as shown in the video, it was well worth the $20 investment.
- I put in just under 2 gallons
- Started the car, put the heater on and rev'd to 2500 rpm
- I burped air by squeezing the two radiator hoses. After 10 mintues, no more bubbles.
- Temp gauge was rock solid in the normal operating range. I suppose that I could have hooked up my OBD2 program to read the actual temp. I'll do that tomorrow on a drive.
- Buttoned it all back up
