Finally, something new to post. :)

Toyota posted the 2020 owner’s manual on their site.

If the link doesn’t work, go to toyota.com/owners and select it from the drop-down menus.

Edited to add:

Tidbits as I skimmed:
  • You can see the two different headlight designs on page 11
  • On the non-projector design, the daytime running lights are the low-beam headlights vs. a separate DRL (similar to Camry)
  • Page 117: there is a rear-seat reminder function after you turn off the ignition and you had previously opened and closed the rear door
  • Page 162: "if equipped," the rear view mirrors will angle downwards automatically when you shift into reverse
  • Page 215: the parking lights and tail lights turn on at night when you unlock the doors ("welcome lighting")
  • Page 215: the lights turn on if in the auto position and the windshield wipers are on
  • Page 252: you can set Road Sign Assist to buzz when you exceed the posted speed limit by a certain threshold

Great find! That's one place on their site I haven't been looking for info.

So far I've found an error in the Quick Reference Guide. It says that the power back door won't open if the rear glass is open. But as we've suspected, the rear glass doesn't actually open, and there's no mention of the glass opening in the Owners Manual.

The Quick Reference Guide is huge at 72 pages.

Yes, all the manuals are out there, including the Nav/Multimedia manual. As mentioned in post # 1, go to Toyota's site, then Owners, then choose Highlander, 2020, and then get to Manuals.

In case the links work without doing all that, here are the others...

I don't know about Toyota, but for some other automakers I have seen manuals that say "if equipped" and none of the autos (even highest trim level with all options) has that feature for USA models. So may have to be careful about jumping to conclusions about some of the features.

Yes, these manuals are a mix of US/Canada as well as gas/hybrid. Regardless of which car you buy, some of the things listed in the manual as "if equipped" will not apply to your car.

The manuals will not give you much hint about the specific features on a given trim level. We still need a brochure to sort out those details. But at least we do know now which possible features are real and which aren't happening. The rear glass doesn't open. No power folding mirrors. No wireless CarPlay/Android Auto (it's USB for both platforms.) There's a Qi charger (if equipped) inside the center console. And now we see exactly what something such as the heads-up display can do, for example.

Amount of different info displayed by HU is not bad. I like it. I still can't wrap my head around the fact that only top trim might have majority of goodies/options. IMHO Toyota should allow to at least choose some packages in XLE trim.
That Toyota salesman from NC (Jeff if I'm not mistaken) uploaded new post with RAV4 TRD trim and he mentioned there that we should have all trims/prices in 2 weeks. He also said by the end of month all dealerships should have at least some cars available.

RAV4 Limited has "Color-keyed heated power outside mirrors with turn signal and blind spot warning indicators,70 and folding feature"

The "power" part means the mirror surface moves using a button on the driver's door. The "folding feature" is just what's shown in the picture above. You push on it, and it folds.

Pretty much confirms the April press release breakdown on the trim levels.

Interesting that the 12" touchscreen will be available as an option on Limited. That was a point of discussion with the video of the red prototype from August - why did that car have a 12" screen in it.

A little more detail would be great, but that's only going to come from the brochure or Toyota's Web site when it finally switches to 2020.

From normal person's point of view it's how it should be. However, Toyota usually gives very scarce options - just check the current highlander - L trim doesn't even have a power liftgate and still uses physical turn-key start in 2019! I'm surprised they offered L trim with power windows - I'm sure they would have offered manual windows lol if they could!
For last 2-3 years Toyota upped their game in terms of exterior design, reliability was always there, fuel efficiency was not bad either. Basically trims/options are the last thing that they need to work on if they don't want competition to eat their market share (especially Korean competitors who are very strong in "trim/options" game).

Perhaps someone else pointed this out but I noticed in the 2020 manual the 18" tires are 235/65R18 106V width/speed, which I believe are slightly narrower but higher speed rating than the 18" 245/60R18 105T tires on my 2019 HL. I wonder why they went with narrower tires on the 2020, while V speed rating probably for handling. I was considering the 235/65/18R size for a winter setup on my 2019 since Tire Rack recommends the narrower size for winter conditions.

Also noticed sport mode changes steering feel, the parking brake appears electrically engaged, it's not clear if the base Dynamic Torque Control AWD is the same as 2019 with extra modes (IMHO the vectoring AWD should be across all trims), looks like the new platform required rearrangement of everything around in V6 engine under the hood, fluid capacity/levels changed: gas 19.2 to 17.9 gallons (less t range than 2019?), AWD transfer oil/diff oil, coolant, ect.
