This question is being asked a lot around ToyotaNation lately, and I don't think there is a solid answer. Here's a little info about the 2020 recall for some models for the paint peeling.

Toyota isn't going to broadcast what went wrong and if/how it's fixed going forward.

You won't know for several years if your Toyota has the problem. If it does, you'll have to see where you can get on a warranty claim. If there is some kind of prolonged problem with the color, maybe Toyota will do the same and extend the paint warranty out further for later model years.

 

White has been a problem for many manufacturers for many years. Not all cars will be affected and you really will have no clue if yours is until many years down the road. Chances are slim that Toyota will cover a repaint unless the problem affects a very high percentage of owners.

 

My White Toyota Tacoma Paint is Peeling off around the Windows . Called Toyota and I was told that the program is not in Place. I was going to Trade My Truck in for a New Truck , now I will have to Wait till this is settled , because it lowered my Trade Value !
