Hi, first time poster here and I was also plagued with this issue on my new 2022 Venza LE. It makes the exact same buzzing/rattling noise as in your video, and it only occurs on rough pavement at highway speeds. I found that the problem is from the steering wheel plastic housing. When I press my finger down on the bottom of the housing, like in the picture below, the noise goes away. That was a dead giveaway that something is loose or not insulated and probably amplifying the road vibration at highway speeds.
I explained my diagnosis to the dealer and they did a bunch of fixes that seems to have mostly stopped the noise. You can try asking your dealer to follow these steps and see if that helps:
- Road tested vehicle for noise
- Remove and inspect horn pad, steering wheel, steering angle sensors
- Place foam between steering angle sensor and steering wheel skin
- Insulate horn button access plate with foam and felt to create tighter fit
- Road test again to confirm no noise
I should mention that even with all these fixes, I still noticed the occasional noise but it was obviously improved from before. After some more self-diagnosis, I found that the access plates (rectangular cut-out in my picture) on both sides of the housing were still a bit loose and causing the occasional noise. I applied clear tape to these plates and that made the noise go away completely.
I hope you find these tips useful and can enjoy the Venza for the fuel-efficient, comfortable SUV that it is. Besides this and a few other minor drawbacks (LE speaker quality, rear turn signal visibility, inconvenient center console), overall I'm happy about my purchase and plan to keep the vehicle for several years.
