Hello everyone! I am a wildlife and nature photographer and I am looking for a SUV that can be built out for overland use as I pursue subjects across North America. I have always been a Toyota fan and have had several 4Runners over the years but I am looking for something bigger and used Land Cruiser prices are just to high.

So I have loved everything I am seeing with the new Sequoia with the exception of the 3rd row seats. I have heard in several YouTube videos that the third row isn't removable however I am sure there is a way to remove it just not for the in and out of a normal consumer.

I would be looking at removing the 3rd row permanently and building a customer drawer system for the rear for camera gear, recovery, camping etc. For long cross country trips that require more gear I would remove the second row as well. This would be a daily driver but with the rear storage would fit my daily needs without removal.

So with that all said I am curious as to what you think it will take to remove the 3rd row? I see it is on a slider system, I heard mention about seat reminders for leaving babies in the car, not sure if the 3rd row has that option or how I could overcome a sensor issue if the seat is removed. If I can't achieve my goal I will sadly have to look for options beyond Toyota.

I appreciate all of your thoughts!

Yea I wouldn't expect anyone to have one yet but the space you have in your pics is exactly what I am trying to have. The loss in height with the seats folded flat is a real bummer. I can deal with the battery pack hump but the depth you lose with keeping the seats in just won't work for what I need.

I understand there is quite a bit of depth loss in the 3rd gen & I think even if the 3rd row is removed there will still be a "hump" from the battery.

No depth loss with the 3rd row seats folded in the 2nd gen, not a car salesman & mine is not for sale, just saying it sounds like you want a '22. :D

Have you seen the gauges of a 2018+? It was updated. If you want a big display there are 10" headunits from Alpine, Kenwood, Pioneer, Sony etc (and a bunch of Teslaesque tablets from China)

I hope you get what you want and are happy!
I will look more into it. The interior has kept me from buying one in the past. Not cheap and a bit early 2000's going on in there with lots of plastics etc.
