@alvarez.ricardo345 Please do post here what the diagnosis is and what repair is needed.

Read a book, while they waste your time. They know it's bad and want you to get tired of waiting, and leave without a repair under warranty. If they need time to get the parts they need to give you a loaner car instead of having you sit and mystified. Grab the servive manager and insist they make things right without any more delay.

Hello. I bought my 2024 grand highlander platinum in September and it started doing the clicking noise within a month. I also had my battery die in November and had to get a new battery. They told me it was a heat shield issue making the clicking noise. Today, I found out from a field tech guy, it is the CV axel on the front left. They told me it was safe to drive until they get the part for it in.

I love these forums. I'm a former Master Toyota tech and I noticed cold starts taking sharp left and right turns I get a noise. I was planning to put it on my lift this weekend and you all just saved me time. I'll call my dealer I worked for and have them order one. Thanks again for this post!! Mine is the 24 GH Platinum Hybrid Max.

Not too disappointed in a first Gen build. I was a Master Toyota tech for 10 years and this is by far my favorite Toyota vehicle I've owned and driven. There are a few small things I am not a fan of but deal with. Not sure why I have to initiate a full mode to just get my wipers (big reason I am not a fan of the new Camrys) and I want my driving mode selector on the steering wheel so bad haha. Overall very happy though.

Yes, same issue, mine was also diagnosed as a defective front axle and has now been at the dealer for more than a month waiting for parts. Purchased October of 2023 and started hearing the noise within a few months/ 6k miles. After three trips to the dealer they finally admitted to hearing the noise and are working on a fix. Bummer to be out of my brand new car this long though.

There already is a TSB on the subject, and this is not a safety issue, so there won't be a recall. The repair will be covered under normal powertrain warranty (5 years / 60k miles). The purpose of the TSB is to alert dealers that this is a frequent problem and give them precise instructions of how to deal with it. There is a possibility that Toyota may issue a Service Campaign that would extend the warranty for this issue (for example 10 years / 100k miles).

I’m having the same problem. 2024 grand Highlander limited. Took it in for a recall and oil change November 28th gave me a loaner because they said it would be a few days. We showed them a video of the disturbing noise it makes when turning. 4 days later car is ready I made sure they addressed the noise they replied it was the wheel well and fixed. As soon as we took off the noise started I backed up and I blocked the entire service center so they would definitely check it. A mechanic met me outside and started looking under the front end I said look man let me take you for a ride just here in the parking lot it will take a second. He got in and’s before I could even make it up to 5mph it started and he said slowly drive it back to the service center this can’t be on the road.here we are January 3rd and they need an axel that will take a month to even deliver. I thought Toyota was a good company what the f##k?

My wife's started doing this a while back and she only yesterday said something. Initially it was just to the right, now it's both. She said, "it sounds like the cv joints"... Damn proud of her.

Anyway called dealer who said this is a known issue and they would take care of it. That's what made me look here to see how pervasive it really is. To say I'm disappointed would be an understatement. I know first model years are always a bit of a growing pain thing, but it really seems like Toyota is not running with the same QA on which I grew up. My 07 tundra was also first model year. As way my 00 tundra. No issues then, or now with them.

We picked picked our up from Beaman Toyota (Nashville) yesterday. They performed the side airbag recall, added a second key fob (18-months after having only one), a broken rear seat frame (that kept arm rest from locking), and addressed the clicking front axles (after initially saying they couldn't duplicate the problem).

The fix was replacement of both front axles. I aske my service advisor (Natasha) whether the parts were redesigned or otherwise improved to prevent this from happening again next year. She didn't know - only saying that this is a first model year and they're working out all the problems.
