About 70% of the time, I'm unable to turn on the radio. Have taken it to the dealership and told the electronics all check out ok. I sent a video of the dead radio (with car running) to the sales rep, who suggested the radio might be in sleep mode and advised to tap the screen instead of pushing the switch. Did that and still no response from the radio's black screen. Next time I entered. the car, the radio was working. Any suggestions?

I have a '23 RAV4 which has the same infotainment system as you (just different shape screen).

Our version of this stereo can have the same issue and on the RAV4 forums many folks who have this issue had to have their head units replaced under warranty.

Yours may not be this severe though. On occasion mine does the same thing. Just a black screen and nothing seems to wake it up.

What I found was it seemed to happen most after I had used the factory remote start and later got in.

It sounds like you might have tried this, but the screen can be kinda laggy with touch detection. The next time this happens to you, try tapping in the screen several times rapidly to see if a button pops up prompting to turn the display back on. It's almost like a bug puts the stereo into screen off mode and the next startup the car just never wakes the screen back up.

Barring that you could try pulling the 12v battery terminals for 30 minutes to reset the electronics and see if that helps.

Some phones using wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto can also cause these newer Toyota headunits to get stuck on a black screen while trying to load.

To troubleshoot you could delete your phone out of the stereo and unpair them in the phone. See if the issue still happens.

You'd think Toyota could have figured out this buggy infotainment system by 2025, but these issues still seem to be happening. Not giving me much hope for my '23 ever getting a software update fix.

I am having the same issue. Also randomly the sound cuts out and and the volume when turning up or down doesn't work and it doesn't even display that you're turning the knob. My screen has also reset while driving quite a few times now as if I shut the vehicle off and back on. Today my screen started swapping between the camera views and the media while I was stopped. I have videos of it all to show the dealership and see what they say, because it is so random, I can't expect it to happen when they have it.

I had experienced exact same issue. First, thought it was due to my old iphone 12, so updated to an iphone 16 and had no change. Removed the phone entirely; still had an unresponsive screen 25- 30% of the time. Have taken it to the dealer 3 times. On my last visit, I was told they would replace the radio.

I just bought a 25 Camry Le about 3 weeks ago. If I listen to Sirius radio while I am driving, I cannot switch to regular am/fm stations. I have to stop somewhere and restart the car, if I want to listen to a sports broadcast, etc. I don't plan on keeping Sirius after the 3 month trial. Do I have to remove Sirius?

am and fm are important for information and safety in emergencies. You can get live talk radio, live sports, music, news, etc, without the need to give some company access to your credit card for life. Podcasts are one thing, but they aren't radio. Radio is important so that we get informed and remain free. I have my own music playlist on my iphone, so I don't want spotify or pandora or whatever. I'd need to get a costlier phone plan too then, as it gobbles data.

The Sirius radio always works 100 % of the time on the new 2025 Camry Le. But Sometimes there is no sound on any am/fm station, even though the screen shows that it is connected. I tried calling the dealer: Brunswick Auto Mart, near Cleveland, no response from them, but then they also told me that my car didn't have a spare tire, which it does, I checked. I am disappointed with the sound system.

It sounds like your local dealer is as bad as mine. Is there another, hopefully more competent, within a reasonable driving distance?
I drive over 2 hours to my preferred dealer I have dealt with for 20 years while the local dealer does not even do every service they record on paper. I only use my local dealer for an initial test drive.

Bingo. That is what causes the problem. Cycle through the sources as many times as you want and the radio is still mute while other sources play just fine. Not a problem with the volume knob, selecting or not knowing how to select audio source, it is not a RTFM problem as suggested, nor anything else on this thread. If you switch to satellite by accident, the radio no longer produces sound until you turn off the engine for a while.
