Can we install a 360-degree cam installation in the 2022 highlander XLE model? It doesn't come supplied with the car. Will it be a good idea to connect with the dealership or some other out-of-market companies?
Does anybody have any experience? Also It needs to be integrated with the central console display. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Yep- trying to retrofit the factory 360 camera system in a vehicle that didn't come with it from the factory would likely be really difficult too- not to mention expensive. If you could source the various exterior cameras and parts from a wrecked vehicle, it might be more manageable cost-wise... but buying the OEM parts from a dealer (even one online that sells at a discount) would be really expensive. The mirrors with the cameras are especially pricey- $1142 each (MSRP). The front camera runs $425. The dash button runs $109.

If this feature is something that you are willing to invest in- then maybe reach out to a few shops in your area that have the expertise and might be willing to take this on. Even if you buy all the parts- they'd have to figure out the wiring and also figure out how to tie it into the infotainment system's display. I don't think that it was ever designed to work with the XLE's smaller infotainment display (2020-2022), but I think that the Camry's 360 camera system works with it- and it might be the same screen size- maybe the same head unit.

Any way you look at it- it's likely going to be a very pricey experiment. Pricey to the point where you might want to consider how much it would cost to retrofit your XLE with the system- and compare it to how much it would cost you to trade in your 2022 XLE and maybe look for a slightly used 2022 Limited or Platinum that already has that feature built-in. Plus- you'd get all the extra bells-and-whistles of the Limited or Platinum grade if you did that.

For example, a 2022 XLE AWD with 20,000 miles has a trade-in value of $34,500. You could expect to pay roughly $39,800 for a 2022 Limited AWD with the panoramic camera option (also with 20,000 miles).

That's an upgrade cost of $5300.

Looking at just the two exterior mirrors, front camera, and dash switch- those alone would cost $2815... and odds are you'd pay another few hundred in labor to have it all installed. Add in the wiring and potential cost of trouble-shooting the system until it actually works properly in your car- and odds are you are up to $3500ish. That's a lot of moola- and makes the idea of trading in your car and upgrading to a Limited seem a bit more appealing- especially since you'd get real leather, ventilated seats, a heated steering wheel, JBL audio with navigation, upgraded headlights and high output fog lights, ambient lighting, 20" alloys (vs 18" on the XLE), parking sensors, a cargo cover, and front side acoustic glass. You'd also get the larger 12.3" infotainment screen. Best of all- you'd be upgrading to the better AWD system in the Limited (assuming that this isn't a hybrid model).

Plus- you wouldn't be voiding your warranty on all of the stuff that has to be torn apart on your 2022 XLE to get this camera system to work.

Thank you for this detailed explanation and comparison. It is excellent, especially the breakup. I appreciate your effort and time in putting this together.
I have 16,000 miles on it and it’s not a hybrid. It’s a V6, AWD, gas. The bird view feature is too enticing and I think i missed it. But anyway may be I will consider in the future to trade it for a limited.
