Yes, you need to get Tacoma specific adapters for both front and rear doors. I got mine on eBay for about $20 for the pair, the crossovers were just placed in the armrest, the guy that installed them assured me I wouldn't hear them rattle and I haven't.

Rattling is not the problem, it's getting them soaked in water or humidity. Take it from Cam2Xrunner.

It would have to be a Tacoma specific one. You can make one yourself out of MDF wood from Home Depot. Just take out the stock speaker and trace it on the MDF wood. I got the plastic ones from TacoTunes.com for only $30 (fronts). You are also going to need speaker adapters for the rears too. Mount your crossovers in the cab somewhere if you are using an external amp.
