Hi everyone, my 2004 XLE Camry has the stock CD player/ AM/ FM / Tape radio-audio Stack, with the 6-disk player now stuck with 2 CDs in there.

Tried to eject one, I cannot get either out, nor play either disk. With car running, Power On/ Off does not correct problem.

Any ideas? Do I have to remove the whole unit?

Is there a Reset button on back of radio stack, or a way to reset the CD player functions?
Thanks Much!

Yes. It has been my general experience that this sort of thing happens as the rubber rollers used to move the disks either get really dirty such that the disk doesn't have traction on them when they try to move it, or they harden or actually crumble.

I've never dealt with this in the units in Toyotas, but the general principles apply.

You will likely have to remove the whole unit and disassemble it as well. You might want to check online if anyone repairs these units if you still intend to use CDs. I haven't used CDs very much in my car since I've ripped virtually everything I own to digital format, and feed the music from my smartphone to the cassette player with a Bluetooth cassette adapter.

Thanks for tips. Anyone heard of trying to "reset" the CD player to get the disks out, by disconnecting from 12V supply buss connector from back of unit? (that's a YouTube solution).

If that can work, ....can the same effect be done by temporary remove/ reinsert of Radio's 10A fuse(s) from the passenger compartment fuse panel?

Update for everyone. In order to try to "reset" the 6-disk CD player in my '04 Camry, by disconnecting the 12 volt supply connector in the back ( takes a lot of work to pry out the climate-control panel, etc, etc.) as some YouTube clips describe, instead I pulled the Radio Fuses (2 of them) in the Driver side underdash fuse box.

Worked same as: CD player went through a start-up seq, and spit out 1 CD.

No need to pull out the whole Radio Console just yet. May have to, if rollers are stiff, broken, as suggested.

My 03 had one stuck would play coud not eject I just went to crutchfield got alpine cd unit with cables to use JBL amp all plug and lay and mounting kit for 130 bucks. Have had alpine units in a few cars they are great prced good and this one sounds as good and loud as JBL stock. never had any issue with alpind single cd payers tey are great. Multi dick head units always crap out after time. To much mechanical crap to shuffle 5 or 6 cds in a head unit. Not sure the cd player is even available in alpine anymore most are all digital now. I like my cd player and still have usb so can use memory stick also but have so many old cds I am not paying to replace. Also has srius xm blutooth and came with microphone for hands free calls on bluetooth.

When I removed stock JBL I tried to remove cd, I was electronic tech for 15 yrs I could not get it out with any hope of replacing worn parts so just get new head unit they are cheap today. you can get quality head unit under 150 in many brands
