1996 SR5 T-100. Extended Cab 4x4
I am trying to get an idea of what a fair price for my truck is. I will be listing it for sale/trade in the near future. Prices, when you can find one for sale, are all over the place.
Truck has 248K miles. I have owned it over 3 years. I purchased it from a service manager of a Toyota Dealership in Dallas, TX. No know previous wrecks and/or paintwork. We will be moving back to Dallas in June and won’t take the truck with us. We will keep our home here on the coast (Morehead City, NC), but don’t want to just leave the truck sit for months at a time. I seldom drive it as it is a third vehicle.
I will list current issues first. If I don’t list it you can assume it works as it should.
-Top portion of truck (hood, bed rail, top of doors/fenders, has missing clear and faded paint which is a result of the TX sun
-Speedo cable needs replaces. Speedometer works but bounces
-Driver’s door lock works with key and manually. Wont lock/unlock when you it the “lock” switch
-Radio antenna is broke off
-Low fan speed is temperamental. Have to wiggle it to get it to work.
-Passenger door rattles once latched. Fixed it by adding tape to the latch.
-Surface rust on the top of front bumper
-Drivers side seatbelt does not like to retract. Will but you have to coax it.
-Has Michelin LTXs on it. They are about 20%. Have an extra set of 4 to go with truck. One is 90%, one 50% other two would be good for a spare.
-Hood shimmed as caulking/sealant has lost its bond with hood
-No other known issues.
Work I have done since I have owned it:
12/14 Heads were reworked due to leaking head gasket. Truck did not overheat. All Toyota parts were used in this repair. Over $1200 worth of parts alone. Ordered from Gary at Toyota of Newman. Valve guides are Toyota down to the spark plugs, head bolts, thermostat. Belts were replaced, all seals, gaskets, knock sensor harness, red antifreeze, you get the picture. Have all the receipts. I did this repair along with a Master Ford Tech. He helped me torque heads and make sure timing belt was installed correctly. He is available to verify the repairs if needed.
EBC Brakes on front
EMPI passenger side axle
Both headlight assemblies replaced as they were foggy
Alignment last month and tires balanced.
All drive cases had fluid replaced for second time when heads and tb/wp were done
Transmission fluid flushed
New steering stabilizer shock installed last week.
I did not clean it up prior to pictures. You see it as it sits most of the time. I take good care of my vehicle and equipment . Both wife and I drive the old 5 cyl. Turbo Volvos (XC90, S70 T5). Hers has 135K mine has 154K. Love not having a car payment, but despise having a car that is unreliable.
I can take additional pictures if needed and answer any questions.
