Good info in the press release. Thanks. Looks like the potential buyers will have many options to choose from.

I find it interesting that in the press release they state the LTD gas model and the Touring will have 18" wheels but the LTD hybrid will have 17" wheels.

Seems to me, you either go all 18" wheels on the LTD, or all 17" wheels on the LTD. Must be a reason for it that I don't understand.

No evidence but I've always thought that the Hybrid and V6 have different weight characteristics.
Front to rear and total weight.
Some engineer decided to make the 17/18 difference to have handling different.
I really feel like the sidewalls are the big difference.
I think they designed the V6 to be a bit more sporty than the high mileage HYB and the suspension is identical to mass produce parts, and the tires are the only difference in handling.

I recently bought a Volvo S60 and the lower profile tires are both tighter in cornering and less forgiving in the jolt from the road bumps. Similar dimensions and weights but totally different rides.

The hybrid Avalon has 17" wheels and 215/55 tires, instead of 18" wheels and 225/45 tires, because the 17" wheel and tire combination is lighter, narrower and has less rolling and wind resistance, resulting in better fuel economy, which is a paramount objective for the hybrid.

Wow, I hope this isn't what the US Models have for options.

No options to select, it is what it is?

I was planning on the dark blue model with the Almond Interior, but in Canada, that doesn't show up as an option. If this turns out to be the case in the US, I just might have to give Creme Brulee Mica a look, after all it is my favorite dessert:)

I wonder how long before the US web site is up to do this?
