So I recently bought a 2007 toyota corolla with 100k miles on it. It is in very good shape, seems previous owner maintained it well. When I test drove it I didn't notice it but after buying it seems if I am going very slow say 0-10 mph and I press on gas I kind of a jerk or jolt from the car. Now if I am going the same speed and very lightly press the pedal I will get an even acceleration. There is no check engine code, it only does it at very slow speeds like when you're going through a parking lot. Never does it from a complete stop.

Things I have done since buying the car a simple drain and change of transmission fluid, changed oil, changed spark plugs. The problem seems to be kind of going away something I have considered is there was some water in the fuel lines or fuel or something and with previous cars I never let the fuel go below a quarter tank so maybe there is still some in there ? I don't know it just seems the more I drive the car, i do food delivery, the more it's starting to fix itself. Maybe the problem is still there and I am more used to it IDK ? another thing is the fuel injectors were dirty and running a few cycles of fuel through there is helping it ?

You should scan for codes first.

The drive by wire system isn't perfected yet here. If you wanted to, look into a power commander to see if it would help with the response in the throttle.

Proceed with checking for vacuum leaks. Especially around the intake manifold. Use soapy water or heat. I'd suggest a bag over the end of the stock air box before it goes into the filter box. Then use any vacuum hose to smoke check it.

Clean your throttle plate with throttle body cleaner. Might have some carbon build up around the edge and isn't closing the plate completely.

Clean your MAF sensor too with MAF cleaner.
