Adding 12v Power Socket in Cargo Area- DIY

looks amazing! Any chance you went back to install the relay or timer? Other than the pictures posted, would you have any other videos or tutorial of the entire process? thinking of doing this on my 21 Venza XLE as well but total electrician newb here
 
kinda want that same convenience (able to connect 12v to pump for bikes/SUPs without starting car) but worried about battery drain without an on/off switch.

Also by direct connection, do you mean connecting positive wire from the 12v socket directly to the battery via an O-ring?
 
Ended up getting this one from Amazon and installed it today! (https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07GYPSLNQ?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details) as it came with a switch and built in volt-meter.

It was pre-wired but wire was way too short and fuse woulda been too far from battery terminal, so had to rewire and swapped out the in-line fuse with a blade fuse.

pretty happy with the result given it was first time trying a project like this.
Thanks for the idea from OP and watching several youtube vids on basic wiring know-how, hoping it holds up!
