Hello and sorry if this has been covered before.
We have a 2014 Camry SE Hybrid, original owners. I recently installed heated seats into my GMC Sierra pickup and my wife is loving them and misses the heated seats she had in her Suburban (but gas bill sucked...).
FYI, I am very comfortable and have skills with electrical (having been a hardware technician at a computer company many years ago before becoming a software engineer).
I have found a kit from ebay that has switches that will fit into the center console (empty slots) and look quite nice.
I easily used a fuse tap in my pickup, but the Camry cabin fuse box is waaaaaay to tight for that. I also found a 20 amp fuse installed in what looks like the heated seat slot marked 'S/HTR RR', see pictures
So this leads me to a couple of questions...
1. Does this mean the existing wiring is there? Or am I making in incorrect assumption on the meaning of the label for the fuse in that position? If it is for heated seats, does that mean some wiring is sitting around for this? Can anyone confirm?
If I want to use a fuse tap (safest way) there is no room to add the fuse tap in the cabin fuse box and put the cover on. I would have to do so on a fuse in the engine bay and route wiring accordingly, which would be a bit more challenging.
2. I am assuming the factory position for the heated seats in the center console where here are two blanks (see first picture). Can anyone confirm this?
Thank you in advance for your help!
