I recently purchased a 4efe ee100 corolla sedan and will be installing a 20v blacktop into it in the near future.I have a full ae111 donor car and was wondering will the subframe fit in the ee100 as i was just going to drop the engine, box, hubs, shocks, subframe ect.....and install in the corolla the way it came out of the trueno. Also if anyone has ever done this conversion before i was wondering is their much splicing between the two looms, keep in mind my rolla is as basic as they come with no central locking or electric windows.I am a mechanic by trade so i'm not worried about the work involved but if their is any additional parts i need i would rather have them got as i plan on taking some holidays in the new year and dont want to be stuck without the bits i need. Thanks in advance for any input,it's much appreciated:thanks:

there are some subtle differences in the subframes where the lower arms attach. some use a through bolt some use a cross shaft setup.

you can see the difference in this pic.

the bottom is a 93/94 setup. 95 up i believe is the top. the top is from my 95 LEVIN subframe.

as for wiring. the main thing is the color codes are what's important. there's a lot of different places that you can find the wiring diagrams. i'm sorry i haven't finished mine yet, still gotta finish a few things.

Ah i see,my corolla is a 96 model and the ae111 is 99.Did the clip you got come with superstrut? Also i see you had trouble with the throttle cable and power steering.Would the cable of the levin not work or the pipe.I was planning to use the rack from the ae111 as well as it is a lot lower milage. Thanks for the response, cant wait to see how your car turns out:D:D

They changed them between the years.
Look at the control arms you will see they changed the rubber bushing. They also changed the way the bolt is slid in and the mount housing.
My 93 Corolla was like the one on top. My 96 Prizm was like the one on the bottom.
The control arms also on mine did not have the link mount for the sway bar. So I took them off my 93 and welded them to the 96 when I added the sway arm.

Thanks for all the replies lads, much appreciated.I am also going to install the rear brakes from the ae111,can i use the control arms from the ae111 and will i just need the handbrake cables from the equalizer?Should i also change the master cylnder and servo from the levin aswell since i will be using all the brakes from it?And finally will the throttle cable from the levin be long enough to use in the corolla?I have the complete ae111 for parts so i would like to use as much as i can from that.

No this was a non superstrut front. I hear the ss front wears out faster and cost more to rebuild. I'm sure it would bolt into your corolla. As long as you pull everything. The easiest way to pull the engine being that you are taking the suspension is take the whole subframe with the engine and Trans out the bottom. Check out my links in my sig. I'm working on the wiring still but there's tips and tricks to make your install easier. As for the throttle cable take it from the levin. The rear brakes same deal take it all. The links from the middle crossmember should be the same. Cables too. Master and prop valve should be the same too. No need to take stuff you don't need to.

Wow just seen this in my emails,I had completely forgot about the thread.
Yes with pre 95 euro models it seems the subframe needs to be drilled out for the
sss bracket to fit but i did not need to do it to fit sss to mine.A friend has a 94 model and
we had to drill it out alright, works fine though.
The conversion on my car is done now and it's been going great.
You can check it out in this link.

Have you or anybody else purchased Prothane control arm bushings for the setup you converted to?? Im having a hard time picturing the rear ones working out. If they do go in i dont see much flex for the rear of the arm... They are the kit Prothane lists for the 99+ ZZ celicas, the seller lists them for 97-02 corollas as well as the last gen celica, and when i inquired for more info about this he assured me he has sold quite a few to people who have installed them on their Corollas.
