Aftermarket radio, can't get sound to work...

Sorry to start another thread but I'm at wits end with this issue and don't know what to do about it. I have bought an after market head unit and there is no audio whatsoever. I've read that these cars have an amp, and I have that wired up, I plugged the factory radio back in and cranked the volume all the way up, but still, no sound.... The sound works with the factory radio back in. I can't figure out if this harness has the wires mixed up or if the HU is just defective.... really driving me crazy... This car has the GM 6 disc changer from the factory. I have the Metra harness spliced up with the aftermakret head unit.... There is no extra wires, but on the harness there is nothing that says amplifier +. There is ANTENNA POWER which is plugged in to the antenna power on the HU, though there is no actual power antenna... I tried swapping that with the AMP power on+ from the HU but still nothing. I'm guessing I need to splice a wire from the factory wiring, but how the hell do I know which one?

I am thinking this is not the correct harness, this is what I bought:

but there is no pinout for the amp+ on the harness. I'm guessing this is the harness for the base GM stereo and not the 6 disc changer with the tweeters.... crutchfield lists a different model # for my car from metra:

Do not every turn the volume all the way up. If your system does work, it will likely only work for a few seconds before the amp and/or speakers blow.

I always recommend purchasing stuff from www.crutchfield.com and they will tell you what adapters and harnesses you need and give your free support (chat or phone). If you can find the same head unit on their site, you might be able to figure out the correct harness that is needed.

They don't sell this unit, it's An atoto a6. Pretty cheap android head unit. I think it's just defective unfortunately....

I rmaed the head unit and ordered the Crutchfield harness though I'm pretty sure it's the same thing. At least I'll get support from them though... The head unit I bought was a open box so I'm guessing it was actually defective.... Hopefully the next one works otherwise I'm gonna be really annoyed...

Check the pinouts on the harness. I've had that happen years ago. The aftermarket harness was wired 100% backward and blew a circuit trace in the radio once I put power to it. Luckily that was all it was and I was able to repair it easily.
