Anyone using AUX-in on the stereo?

The manual says I may hear "noise" when I use this input and sure enough I am hearing a high-pitched tone from speakers when listening to my my Pioneer Inno XM radio. The car's manual says to eliminate the noise I should use the device's own battery instead of the cigarette power adapter. This works, but HOW LAME! Anyone experience this? I need an alternative to allow me to use the car's power to run my Inno.

Thanks!

I own a Black 2007 Camry LE.

The Sirius Stratus unit I had installed produced a very annoying buzzing/whining noise. I used the AUX input down in the cubby hole and powered it with the cigarette lighter.

I bought this Ground Loop Isolator from my local RadioShack ($16.99): http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2062214&cp

It fixed the problem right up and the sounds quality is excellent.

I did have to purchase a Y-Cable and a Mini Jack Coupler to get everything to fit.

Total cost : $16.99 (Ground Loop Isolator) + $6.79 (1/8 Y Plug) + $3.99 (Mini Jack Coupler) = $27.77 plus taxes

You can try this out and see if it works for your car, if it doesn't, just return it.

Hope this helps.

yeah like many have said already, it's a ground-loop problem, fairly common in automotive audio situations, hence why there's readily available fixes.
I've heard of "alternator whine", but never "ground loops" (in cars, that is). Rather than "treat" the audio signal itself with the aforementioned Crutchfield and Radio Shack filters, can I put a cheaper "noise filter" http://cgi.ebay.com/GROUND-LOOP-ISOLATOR-NOISE-FILTER-SUPPRESSOR-HUM-KILLER_W0QQitemZ330102310345QQcategoryZ94845QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem on the power line going to the Inno?
