Check this auction on ebay. This guy has a whole lot of tailgates for the 05-06's. I think he has a couple silver ones. Just email him and ask him. Hope that helps.

If you only DENTED your tailgate, why don't you call a PDR (Paintless Dent Removal) shop.

They can fix that legitimately.

Unfortunately the dent was fairly significant, and it also cracked the paint. I’ve been to 5 body shops and the cheapest quote I have is about $650 for the repairs. If I can find a used (like new) tailgate for less than that, I’ll probably take it.

I agree -- I had a dent taken out of my Chevy PU about the size of a fist, and then, it needed paint -- everything cost me $350. A good dent guy might be able to do it without body work.

 

A couple of weeks ago I dented my tailgate and the body shop estimates are >$600 for repairs. I've tried local junk yards but nobody seems to have 2005+ Tacoma parts available yet.

Anyone out there have a silver '05 or '06 Tacoma tailgate they want to sell?

I have the rear gate on my '05 that is just collecting dust in my shop. I took it off when we did the SAS. Send me a pm with your email address and we'll talk. It only has 3000 miles on it, and is in perfect condition.
