Lately it appears that our tolerance for other post has been getting short.

Multiple threads have been victim to Flamers!

It's alright to point out to other members that they would do better trying to search rather then starting another post.

But take this as a friendly reminder.

Everyone was a Newb; here at one point and time.

We have all made useless posts.

But if you do not like to read about a "MPG" thread or a "lifted truck" thread?

Please feel free to ignore it!

DO NOT waste your time to respond, if you do not intend to help!

(And by intend to help I don't mean teach Them a lesson, and explain how Dumb a thread is)

TN is a Better place than that!

There are other popular forums out there that you can do this type of stuff.

But it will NOT be tolerated here on TN!!

I know the majority of our member are great people!

So please put your best foot forward, and lead with a good example!

Thank you Guy & Gals!

Carry on!

Respect is the foundation of a civil society. Despite this however, societal degradation is becoming more and more apparent as anti-social behaviour takes over and the overwhelming number of displays of disrespect become, on a daily basis, an issue for concern. Take this thread for instance, ask yourself, as adults why do need to dicuss this? The answer is we shouldn't have to. Basic respect for others is the kind of thing our parents are suppose to teach us as kids, we shouldn't need to have this talk with other grown adults.

We are all adults here, and I'm of the mind now that if you have nothing of value to add to a conversation, simply piss off. No one cares to see you beat your chest with disingenuous digressive writing. What kind of profound mental degradation does one have to be suffering from to think that that kind of behaviour will prove to be of any value to anyone?

wow

A very, very wise decision it was, asking you to moderate Toku.

As a recent 'flamer', I can plainly see that it's high-time to stuff Mr. Hyde back into his hole; only Dr. Jekyll posts here from now on. ;)

I have learned volumes here at the Nation, but not through posts like some of the ones I've created lately. :disappoin

I have obviously offended, and I apologize.

well put.... my apologies to everyone. I admit, I'm a flamer.... and I've been flamed by others in the past.

My fault is that I get so miffed when someone so obviously needs help and doesn't realise it. It is obvious though that TN members actually care about its posters.

I do agree with what Toku says and will do my best to keep my fingers away from the keyboard. One recommendation I would make, if it is even possible on this board, would be to merge like threads. This will do 2 things:
Put all like topic in the same thread, can you say MPG
Decrease the need to search, since the users thread will be merged in with all other threads on like topic.

<soapbox>
This thread sounds too much like the state of our country. Don't say the wrong thing, we don't want to upset anybody. Kids can't play tag anymore in elementary school, because someone might get hurt. It's what I call the 'pussification' of america...we are raising a bunch of pussies now because everybody is equal...'no child left behind'.
</soapbox>
Carry on, and yes I have learned a lot from this board and it has cost me thousands!!!! (lift, wheels, tires, cai, exhaust, etc)

I agree with AN about how this shouldn't of come to a point where it needed to be said, however on that same token, it shouldn't be said what is right or wrong to say to someone.

Everyone has an opinion, whether that opinion is well stated or rude doesn't really make a difference to me. Sometimes people just need a kick in the head... I can't recall if the company that owns this forum is based in the US or Canada...but if the former then we should certainly be allowed to voice an opinion.

I understand why people don't want toes stepped on, but seriously, you can't make everyone happy and sometimes people just don't need it.

On the note of trying to keep things in order...as that is the preferred method of the moderators, NASIOC uses a points system...moderators can hand out points, put people in timeout, do all kinds of things. Maybe a system like that would help keep some stuff under control. And if your response to that system pertains to work for yourselves that you shouldn't have to do, then you shouldn't care what people say.

I don't think the problem is someone expressing his/her thoughts or opinions...

I think the problem is people mindlessly bashing someone for expressing his/her thoughts or opinions.

Sometimes we just need reminding.
It's kind of sad that it was only 5 months ago I posted an eerily similar thread, unfortunate how nothing ever really changes. My tone and attitude towards this site has changed considerably since then, and I've lost a lot of faith in TN members being able carry out an effective exchange through active reading, questioning, and direct communication. The simple pleasantries of courteous normal human communication seem to be lost to many. :disappoin
