Auto high beams

I know I read about the auto high beams when I got the car, but only recently have been able to see the function.

Since I live in or near the city, the high beams are rarely used. It seems that the camera (forward looking) senses the ambient light AND distance between cars and auto dims the lights. very cool.

Not sure if it's the limited or the tech package that gets it, but I don't care. it works very well.

The radar cruise control is still the best part of the car. If it was more rural, the lights would be great

I agree. I use it fairly often, as I live in a semi-rural area and drive a two-lane road to and fro home at night on occasion. It works perfectly and is "smart" as it recognizes tail-lights as well as headlights and won't put on the high-beam in an area that is well-lit or if there's still enough daylight that they're not needed. It's impressive to me that it dims for even quite feeble tail-lights as you approach a car ahead of you -- I suspect it reacts to color as well as light intensity.

I don't want to hurt myself and say it's smart, but I agree that it figures out the ambient light and the tail lights and the distance from traffic and the oncoming lights.

I thinks it's a really good option to find and use.

To those with out the camera intelligent high beam option,

Neener neener neener.

It is really good.

One of my favorite features

This is where the technology really shines. The auto dim is almost flawless. I am amazed everytime we drive at night and watch the system work. The cruise radar is equally amazing. It has saved my butt a couple times when wondering eyes miss the jerk who tries to cut you off. It brakes and I mean right now. Not preferred for use on the 210 in LA but great out on the open road.

Completely agree...Find myself driving in the country at night just so I can see the auto high beam feature work. It amazing the distance the camera can detect red tail lights in front. So much better than the previous systems of the 60s and 70s where reflections from street sights would trip the dim function.
