Automatic Lock

Adjusting to our new 2015 HL Limited.

Trying to understand if there's an option which will automatically lock the doors when leaving the car? Our other vehicles simply lock the doors when you walk away. I really don't like needing to touch the handle even though it is a simple task. Guess we're spoiled but why would Toyota set it up to require manual intervention on an automatic system?

I've read the thread on the Techstream system but it wasn't clear what the options outlined actual do.

Cheers....

So I wonder if there is someone in the car, what you would like the system to handle that case?

Driver walks away with the car key, but someone remain in the car. Engine is off with windows open.

Just curious.

The doors lock unless that person has a fob. So what? All they have to do is open the door and get out. At least that's how it works on most GM vehicles.

Again... why make someone physically lock an "automatic" system. Must be Japanese logic?

Seriously guys what am I missing?

Oops... forgive my limited response. There seems to be a tornado approaching Moore once again. I'll get back to you... hopefully.

Well, last night was interesting. Spent most of it in a cellar with a bottle of vino.

Actually you may be right. Leaving the locked car from the inside possibly does set the alarm off. I never actually tried it.

Anyway, back to my question. Does anyone know of an option on the HL which permits it to automatically lock the doors when exiting the vehicle?

I noticed in the Techstream section that there is some setup which allows for adjusting a "lock delay". Does anyone know specifically what this is?

Cheers...
