Automatic volume control engagement on 2023 Toyota Corolla XSE with premium JBL sound system

I set the automatic volume control to be "ON" in the informant system screen. But as the road noise gets high such as driving on the freeway the volume does not go up when the road noise increases and the volume does not go down when the noise decreases.
Is there another adjustment I am missing as this is the only adjustment I can find for that feature?

Well I presented the problem of this automatic volume control on the 2023 Corolla 2.0 gasoline engine (USA market) XSE HB with JBL sound system which is suppose to be able to adjust volume by speed of vehicle by choice.

On Friday, Dec. 1 A sales person adjusted it the same way as I did prior to this Toyota 24 Mo. free maintenance check I came in for. Afterwards the volume still doesn't adjust or change at all in the settings level per speed of the car.
From what we both see is that there is only on button that you engage to get the auto volume and it is lit up to engage.

Now Toyota Service wants to look into this further. They were not sure during the 24 Mo. Toyota free maintenance check which is a "do it while you wait" for customer and said they would need more time to analyze this so I would have to leave the car with them at another time and date.o_O🥺

This is the same dealership that put my tires at 38 PSI 😱on all 4 tires for the 24 Mo. Toyota free maintenace check which per driver side label calls for 33 PSI front and 30 PSI rear which I changed the air pressures back to during the evening when it is at its coldest temperature.

I would hate to leave the car with them especially if they create a new problem by going into this further by opening up the system.
I wonder if there is a TSB on this informant / JBL Stereo system level adjustment auto volume speed adjustment??

The service representative called me today and asked me if I wanted to schedule an appointment for this problem. He told me he does not know what is involved and be prepared to leave the car longer than a while you wait service.o_O

I don't want my car to be a guinea pig test case since they don't seem to know about these cars with all of these fancy features and too many different models they cannot keep up with i.e. L, LE, SE, XSE, hybrid, etc.

When you switch it on, do you have the choice of high, medium and low? I found a video on YouTube showing 3 options for it.

Does this occur on Bluetooth and the radio?

No there are no choices it's just a dot that you slide to right or left to engage it. When engaged it's blue. When unengaged and turned off it's white. It's in the settings in the level adjustment. If I remember correctly below it are two settings for the levels for phone and Bluetooth but those are fully engaged and at the highest level.

I also went to the general keyboard settings? It's the one that you can set the beep to be on or off whenever you touch the informant screen. Below that adjustment is the setting for how sensitive you can adjust the touch of the keyboard to respond. It states when wearing gloves on a scale of 1 to 3 that 3 would be the best setting. I gather that this would mean the most sensitive setting?
However when I am changing stations just with my hands with no gloves I do not find this 3 touch setting to be sensitive enough. I find that I must really push on the screen. I also don't find the 1 setting to be sensitive enough as if there is no difference. So what gives? Is 3 the most sensitive setting? Am I understanding this correctly?

On my older 2012 mazda5, I have this for my audio system. It works well, actually too well. It’s just the base audio system. My option is 1-7 I believe.

Funny how newer tech is supposed to be advanced, but yet behaves pedestrian. My guess is, the manufacturers are deleting the options for the drivers in the infotainment. I expect we will be so limited, that it’ll be more expensive.

The end result appears to be that it doesn't work no matter how fancy it is on the new cars🤢🤮 even though they charge you more for these features.
Also a lot of people do not understand the workings of these cars since there are many different model designations and this includes the sales representatives, service representatives and I'm afraid the mechanics too.😬😵😱.

That's why I get a funny gut feeling that I don't want them to mess with it or make it worse.

I may have lurked down in that area but I am not about to mess around with anything to make it worse. I do believe from all indications and also through the CONNECT FEATURE? on phone that everything is updated.

But wouldn't you know when I check my phone under tire pressures I must update it to the current real time otherwise it gives me pressures from yesterday. Even then when I finally get it to update to real time/current time it is incorrect/does not match what my tire Accupressure brand dial type with air release pressure guage I have been using. I have tire settings per air pressure guage to 33 front and 30 rears PSI but the phone says after it updates something like anywhere from 35 front to 32 rears OR 32 PSI front and 28 PSI rears and this is at night when it's coldo_O. In conclusion the PSI on the telephone connect feature never matches my air pressure guage I have been using on all of my cars.
I am just old school on this stuff and would rather check it myself including the oil level rather than using my phone.(n)🤮

My experience with this is that NO brand of vehicle makes any discernable difference with the volume vs. speed. Fortunately there is a button on the left side of the steering wheel that is easily accessible and allows me to customize with my thumb the volume of the sound as needed. I don't even need to take my hands off the wheel or take my eyes off the road, amazing. You guys complain about all of the things the car does for you and all of the things the car doesn't do for you. Laughable.
