AUX Port Replacement?

What's the best AUX Port on the market?

Or something good for the price?

Mine is basically completely broke. I used to be able to move it around and get it to work, but that's not working now.

I plan on just buying that little port jack (or whatever you call it), and asking a friend to replace it for me.

Does anybody have a good online listing where I can buy it from? I definitely prefer a new one opposed to a pre-owned one.

In this case, I wouldn't want OEM since they seem to have a poor design.

Another thing you could do before buying a new port is checking to see if the port in your car is loose. Have you taken the port out of the dash to look at it yet? On my old phone, the AUX port stopped working so I took the back cover off and it was just loose so the cable wouldn't fully go in. Besides, if you do mess up and end up not fixing the port, you can always still buy a new one. Try this first before considering buying a new port.

So my friend and I tried to fix the thing, but it didn't work. We tried some soldering and bunch of other things and probably broke it permanently.

So I was shopping around for a new port. I only came across OEM listings. But they are so expensive! Almost 90 dollars. I can buy a whole new stereo set with AUX included and maybe add Bluetooth.

Can somebody give me a compatible model number of a cheaper/third-party brand?

The problem with that is that the design of the two parts are different. This is the 86190-02010 aux port:

And here is the 86190-02020 aux port:

As you can see, they are very different designs so most likely the second one won't fit. I would say to try and get another 86190-02010 aux port from a salvage car just so that it can be cheaper.

I ended up buying this third party version brand new from Amazon:

The build quality is definitely better than the OEM one. It feels more sturdy and the AUX plugged in stays put and doesn't wiggle much.

It fits perfectly.

I was going to try a junkyard but I thought buying n OEM in this case wasn't a good idea because it'd probably go down after a few months of heavy use.
