ngk, denso etc.... japanese brand in other words, apparently theres some issues on japanese vehicles when using european plugs, something to do with different voltages yada yada yada...

 

ya i was gonna go with a japanese brand...but any specific? Denso iridium? NGK iridium? does it make a difference as long as its iridium?

 

for gen 4 or lower, platinum will do just fine.

 

In a Toyota use NGK's as first pick (platinum or Iridium depending on car, in a gen 3 platinum are fine)

I would take Denso as a second pick.

so an NGK Premium Platinum Plug would be fine for my 1MZ-FE? wow 6.81 for a pack of 4 spark plugs is a pretty good price right?

NGK and Denso will both work. I had NGK plugs from the factory and replaced with Denso plugs and no problem. Both had twin ground electrodes and were double platinum.

 

so would the NGK Platinum Plugs be a good replacement for stock? or should i go Denso Platinum?

 

Either one, which ever you can get cheaper

 

i got NGK iridium plugs for my camry. 6097's i believe but that is a range colder for the snail

I use Bosch Platinum (+4) in my 1994 V6 LE, and they seem to work great, much better than whatever was in there before...It's a b**** to change plugs in the 1MZ-FE!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!

 

Picked up 4 Denso PK20R11 platinum's from Toyota a few months ago. I guess Denso is the factory replacement plugs.

if it is stock, go with the platinums, that is fine from what i know

Iridiums also do not last as long and cost more.

 

no additional benefit for iridiums in older engines

platinums are better cos they r cheaper.

 

I dont know about now but when I was working for Toyota in the mid 90's they came with NGK from the factory but we replaced them with Denso at the dealership. and they all came in the box that said Toyota on it. So eiter one of those should be fine to use.

i have +4 bosch's in my mod'd 3vz-fe now....i heard no so great things about them so im getting a set of new iridiums for free and trying them....i will see if ther is a diff or not.

 

I just put Denso Iridium Power (IK20) in my 5efe engine... Feel so smooth, I hope that'll improve my fuel enonomy. I know it's expensive for I get it 12 per unit but I like the word IRIDIUM anyway... hope this will help you decide.
