I had my 2.5L Camry in sport mode and accidentally bounced off the redline rev limiter in first gear like an idiot for a solid second or so. Any risk of damage here? Engine was warmed up already.

My transmission didn't upshift which is why I'm asking. I'm really surprised it didn't shift out of first gear considering it'll do that otherwise in any other gear. I was in manual mode. Had a brain fart and didn't upshift until a second later.
There is a bit of a safety margin. Redline isn't the point at which the engine will grenade, it's just the highest speed the engine is designed to be run on occasion.
Any time above cruising speed is impacting engine life, but if nothing blew up at the time, it's fine.
The main risk at high RPM is valve float, and you'll know it if a valve hits a piston.
Don't feel bad, I've accidentally bumped the shift "paddles" on the steering wheel of my SE and had strange things happen. As if I could use them any better than the computer does it.
The paddles gave me a chuckle on the CVT in my '16 Corolla, but it turns out that I did use them occasionally for engine braking when not using cruise control.
When using cruise, the system handled engine braking on its own.
I get even more of a chuckle out of the paddle shifters and tach display option on my '21 Avalon XSE Hybrid.
You're fine. The car is designed to do that if you want to. Some people redline their cars everyday.
