Take a hacksaw blade and cut it down lengthwise so that it's about 1/8" tall. Leave it a lil thick on the end, because you need to grind a hook in the last 1/4". You should be able to slide it in along the top or bottom edge past the end of the key and hook it where the cuts are and pull it out. Thanks Popular Mechanics.

Otherwise, take it to a locksmith, you need a new key anyways,

This happened on my '91 and I had to take the ingition cylinder out of the car to get the piece out.

This is very speculating based on another, car. I don't know much about Toyota.

But perhaps instead of taking the cylinder entirely out which would be very hard in an Audi, you can pull the electric switch component off the back side of the mechanical key part, and then stick a tiny eye glass screwdriver to poke the half key out.

 

broke down and went to the locksmith. spend about 100bucks, to get the barrel out and the key......as long its working now:thumbsup:
