I drive a 2007 Camry SE and I was replace the oil control valve or VVS. I was being as gentle as possible when trying to remove it but the solenoid broke apart from the main body of the part and remains in the engine block. Any idea how to remove this solenoid part that is still in the engine.

If you are familiar with the 07 Camry the part is on the read of the engine just below the cam shaft cover. It’s in an extremely awkward position.

My 05 had the same problem. The rubber o-ring is causing the seized issue(hardened up over time).

Spraying some rubber softener into where the o-ring is(and let it sit for a time), could loosen it up enough for removal.

The way I did it, was to use a few varying size flat head screwdrivers, and jam it in between the tapered lip/s of the body, and Twist the flathead to force it to slide ever so slightly, until the next taper is accessible.
(Using a smaller flathead til theirs enough space to use a bigger one(more leverage), is how I got to the next taper.)

Be careful though because it's a soft metal and could break off. (Then your in trouble $$)

Also I suggest not using pliers to grab onto the body and pull.
(I tried this on a salvage yard unit and broke it off in the head)

If you have a salvage yard close by, I recommend trying this out, to get a feel for exactly what to do.

See pic below for what I'm talking about.
This is the exact body that was stuck in my car's engine.
(Notice the chip marks.)
