I know we've got lots of GBs going on pretty close together, but this may be your last chance to get the Doug Thorley headers at a good price. C2C is probably going to have to stop carrying the headers this year.

C2C group buys are not like regular group buys here on TN. Everything is handled through their website. No need to start a list of names. This deal is going to be advertised on a couple other forums.

This deal is only for Ceramic coated long tube headers for the 4.0 V6 1GR in the Tacoma or FJ Cruiser. The chrome ones are not available anymore. Ceramic is better anyway.
Chrome finish is only intended to provide protection for the header. The chrome will "burn in" and some discoloration will occur when heat is applied. Ceramic coating is a high luster silver color, and looks like highly polished aluminum. It will not discolor with the introduction of heat and is corrosion and heat resistant to over 1000 degrees. At the same time it creates a thermal barrier, and in turn lowers the under hood temperature, keeping air intake temps cooler, and keeping the exhaust gas hotter which aids in performance, while also adding life to your header.

This Group Buy will open tomorrow on the C2C Group Buy section of their website (top menu bar) http://www.coast2coastperf.com/
The group buy closes on 11-12-07
There is a minimum of 15 units that have to be sold in order for the deal to go through. All the headers will ship once the 15th payment is made, and any additional headers will ship right away.
There are only 35 sets of headers to sell.

In the last C2C group buy I think these sold for $525 + $30 shipping. But this time we were able to get them for $490 plus $30 shipping to the lower 48 states.
E-mail C2C for a shipping quote outside of the lower 48.

On an auto, bone stock, FJ Cruiser this is what the headers dyno'd.

max rwHP gain- 17.9 HP in the midrange
max rwTQ gain- 24.5 in the midrange

That's only $27 per 1 HP gained, which is pretty good.
On our trucks a supercharger is about $80-$100 per 1 HP gained.

These are pics of the actual ceramic headers.

I would love to add these and the TRD exhaust to my truck!!!!

So, not to poop on this GB, but this doesn't seem too extraordinary. I looked at the URD website and they are selling the Thorley headers for $529. However, they discount their dual O2 simulator to $59 (normally $89.) So, it looks like you are really saving $10, unless you don't plan on buying the O2 simulator from URD. I don't know what the shipping expense is going to be, and that could be significant.

What am I missing?

Not sure about your shipping but c2c said $45 to ship and urd says about $23 to ship to my door. I see a xmas present to myself coming soon! These would look sweet under the hood, so glad the went to cermaic instead of chrome.

as said in the thread, shipping will be 30$. the 45 only carried over from our last group buy. these are being drop shipped, and DT gets a nice discount on their shipping.

also, retail on the headers is 541. URD DID sell them for 529, but i am the only dealer you can buy these from now. even if you try to buy them directly from doug thorley, they will forward you to me. i will be offering an O2 simulator before the group buy ends hopefully very cheap to the group buy people. 490 is a pretty damn good deal on these headers, ill bet anyone a box of donuts they wont see them again cheaper;)

If you click on the picture you get the right info, if you click on the words underneath you get the info for the hood struts. So who is going to be the only dealer for these now, C2C or URD?

I'm definitely in on this...I'll be placing my order tomorrow.:banger:

Smokin' deal. Don't think I can scrounge enough change from the couch that quick though. Did anyone that bought them in the last GB dyno with other mods like intake/exhaust? I would like to see what an N/A tuned package could bump out.

Big plug for these headers, install is easy, they look great and do perform!!!

This is w/ URD Intake, MAF(12.3 afr in open loop), Ypipe, o2 sim, and magnaflow 24'' muffler
Two dynos here, only thing added on the top graph is c2c headers. No other changes, tunes, etc
Peak #s: 297 rwtq, 252.6 rwhp

Your exhaust will be WAY too loud with this set up..I recommend keeping the stock Ypipe if you have an aftermarket catback exhaust. Running 2 straight thru mufflers doesn't do much for noise levels either.

Dummy

I don't know much about all this performance enhancing equipment but say I buy the header..........

1. How much would I expect to pay to have it installed? Say I buy only the header for $520 and it costs me $160 to install, do I get the additional performance listed with everything else still stock? I guess the cost per horsepower goes up when you add the installation cost.
2. Whats the O2 simulator thing and do I need it to get the performance advantage indicated?
3. Most things I read indicate if you increase you exhaust, you need to increase your intake...so if I bought and installed the headers, do I need to do additional mods under the hood? I've heard good and bad about K&N and I run some dirt roads frequently.
4. Do I need to couple the headers with a new muffler system like the Flowmaster Series 40? It would seem that if you only reduce pressure from the engine half way back to the tailpipe. you haven't done much.
5. Whats all this cost?

1. for a qualified installer, its a 1-2 hour job. prices vary everywhere, check what the going rates are.
2. on 02 sim basically tricks your engine to thinking all cats are working 100%. without that there is ZERO loss of performance, just an check engine light.
3. you no not need to do anything else. the dyno and horsepower given in the first post are on a 100% stock truck. if you were to add intake, and a cat back, you would gain more power, but its by no mean "needed" as they perform excellent by themselves.
4. again, you dont have to. you will find some additional power, but it is going to be small gain in comparison to the power gains of the header.
5. it costs as little as 519, and as much as you want. if you are looking for performance, this is the best bolt on out there. if you want a little power, and alot more noise, couple it with intake/exhaust.

there are only 35 sets ready to ship, and i expect them to move quickly, so if anyone does want them i would suggest getting payment in and holding your spot:)

no, the minimum number of spots is 15- once 15 orders are made, the order will ship. the maximum number is 35 for the group buy.

everyone that has bought the headers will be able to get the 02 sims (assuming my supplier comes through.....) at the discount for the question above.

i will have sound clips in a day or two of them on a stock car.

I have the banks exhaust and TRD intake on my truck now. How loud do you think it would be with these on? I do a lot of thruway driving... I don't want it to be so loud that I can't hear myself think. That being said, those numbers are impressive!

Just ordered mine. Shipping charge was $45...thought is was supposed to be $30 per earlier posts.

i fixed this for you.

about the 02 sim. right now urd has them for 89 bucks- sometimes cheaper if they put them on sale. the headers come out with out any issues (large engine bay:clap:) from the bottom. its only about a 2 hour job with a beer break or two.

the faster everyone jumps in, the faster we can get the product out:thumbup:
