I was wondering how much this would cost and if anyone here was considering this mod.
Thanks

Toyota OEM fog lights are NOT an available option on the LE. I have also asked the dealer about this and they cannot install them. It is a factory option and they are only available on the SE and XLE. You can install aftermarket fog lights though.

Just a little info... I test drove the SE and XLE and I like the way the SE felt. The XLE is a little more smoother, but not something you can REALLY tell the difference in. The XLE is luxury and the SE is sport/performance luxury. I liked the way the perforated sport leather looked in the top line SE models. On the outside it is a world of difference to me, the SE looks young, sleek and sexy... all the while the XLE looked like the traditional 'grandma' Camry that everyone speaks of. The choice is ultimately yours, but definitely give them a hard look. If you have any questions feel free to shoot me a message on here or e-mail me at Evan215@comcast.net... BTW I have a '07 Camry SE in titanium metallic and I'm 21 years old. I have pics of my SE also if you wanna see them...

Thanks,

Evan

Thanks for that info. Makes it easier for me to decide between the LE and SE

I'm sure there are some dealers that will install them (as you have indicated LunarMist), but as specified on Toyota.com and in their brochure it is not an option on the LE as the SE and XLE are the only two '07 models offering them. Did that make sense because I felt that was the longest run on sentence I've ever written... lol

BTW LunarMist, congrats on the SE... I love mine and I hope you do too! They are amazing automobiles!

Actually you CAN have OEM foglights installed. There is a member on here who is a Toyota salesman and has a 2007 SE V6 and I asked him before I decided to get my SE whether or not I could get fogs installed on an LE an he said yes and that he would do it for me if I got a car at his dealership.

They probably have the fog wiring harness (like on the Gen 5) on all Gen 6 models. It might be a very clean install for the dealer though he might try to charge you a lot for it.

;) Thanks, Evan. Congrats to you too. I am only 22-years-old so I guess we are some youngins with some Camry's!

With my Factory fogs they are turned on and off by twisting a ring on the lights column. I think that ring may be missing on the LE. You may need to install a switch too, not just the lights.
Yeah, that's the same thing that had to happen with the Gen 5 to use the stock fog light wiring. Gen 5 owners had to buy the turn signal stalk with the extra fog light controls. The Gen 5's also needed a relay. Most Gen 5 owners who wanted fog lights just instead opted to get an aftermarket "OEM-style" fog kit off of ebay which came with a switch that mounts on the bottom of the dash close by the fuse box. The dealer might have installed something that mimicked the ebay kit with a switch on the dash instead of the turn signal stalk by the steering column. It would be much cheaper for them. But who knows?

Thanks LunarMist! Yeah I'm loving the Camry and never would have considered buying one up until I saw this years model. I was going to buy an Acura TL, glad I didn't because the Camry exceeds it (IMHO). I used to drive a '97 Nissan Altima SE... got rid of that POS.

Tomorrow I am getting body moldings, and my VIP alarm installed. After that I have plans for remote start, tint, and mudguards, and clear mask protection for my lights and fog lights.

I've already had a FULL front clear mask placed on the car, also the inner part of the door handles (prone to scratches), mirrors and 18" up the hood. And I also had them install early warning LoJack on the car.

For as young as I am and paying off this car, yeah I'm concerned. Plus in Colorado all we have is gravel on the roads from the winter snow and the whole front end of the Camry is painted... you do the math lol. I am just being cautious.

:eek:t: but I had a VIP alarm installed in my 07 SE but it never worked right. Glass breakage does not work and the beeps are gone when you lock and unlock the doors. Evan215, let me know how that VIP alarm works.

I was told that the dealer can install the Fog Light kit with no problem. Yes they will also install a new Turn Signal/Light stalk too.

I have to admit that the dealership in Lansing has done a 180 degree turn around with me. Since the Service Manager took over my service it has been nothing but Great Service! I can't bitch...the Service Manager would not charge me for the Side Moldings or the Rear Bumper Applique...and he topped my tank.

It pays to be nice and forgiving....I have no problem with his staff installing anything on my car now. Even IF there is a problem I am confident they will make good on the install/repair.

Even215...I was wondering why you bought a LE over a XLE with all the add ons you are doing....? Then again I am adding on too. I am stopping at the Lip Spoiler and the Fog Light Kit....

hmm...maybe a SE grill....or the SE style arm rest....

Mrs Dood will kick my Buttocks...hehe

Some are pretty good. But as a salemen told me today after I was complaining why salespeople never seem to know that much. He told me:" Do you see a computer on my desk?....they will not allow it....they do not want US to know too much...they want us to move cars..."

That makes sense...I still told him he should be checking out sites like this one and learning about his product more...he agreed, however, how much to YOU want to work after you are out of work for the day? I know when I get home from work...the last thing I want to do is more WORK...hehehe

Wow. No offense but IMO most of the add-ons you listed are useless and a waste of money.

1) Body Side Moldings: They really dont protect against dings and on a car as dark as mine (Blue Ribbon Metallic) you would hardly be able to see them for even a cosmetic purpose.

2) VIP Alarm: Again, unless you living in Compton, California this is useless because every 07 Camry comes with an engine immobilizer anti-theft system so all an alarm will add sound to alert you of a break in which wouldnt matter because with the engine disabled, no one could steal your car.

3) Remote Start: I heard this feature was stupid on the new Camry because of the way it works compared to other remote starters on other cars.

4) Mudguards: As far I remember, mudguards arent an option on 07 SE's because of the body kit.

Remote start is expensive because you have to emulate the transponder that is in the ignition keys. before the engine will start. $$$

VIP alarm: I like the Glass breakage sensor, if it worked, which I does not on my car. I may remove my VIP alarm if the dealer can't get it to work properly.

Evan215, Are you getting the body moldings, VIP alarm and remote start installed by a Toyota dealer. Could list the price including labor that there are charging you?
Thanks
Yes, all are being installed by the dealer (here in Colorado, it is John Elway Toyota Scion). The body moldings cost me $190, the VIP alarm is being installed for free because I convinced them of it (the started the install last Friday and couldn't get it to work properly so they are going to try again... ugh) and I'm not having remote start installed yet, not until a later time. I did have the early warning LoJack installed in my car though, and I'm happy with it.

Old Dood... I actually have an SE... I chose it mostly because I liked the way it looked over the CE/LE/XLE and because I liked the 17" six-spoke rims. Oh and the V6... hehe
