I have an 86 pickup with a 22r. I don have a tach on it but it sounds like the truck always idles high. Also when you kep your foot stil o try and keep a constant speed the truck will get jumpy and jerk around. When you accelerate or deccelerate its fine. I dont hear any misses or anthing like that. I read on a similar thread that a guys removed his vacuum lines and capped em all off and it fixed it....i thought that was weird. But yeah I dunno what to do. Oh and the truck doesnt reall have these problems before the thermostat opens. Its rather smooth when the truck is cold????? Im stumped??

Also sorry if this has already been answered but there are a lot of threads to look through.

You could check all thermostatically controlled vacuum lines. Some don't flow vacuum until engine is warm. Get a Haynes manual and adjust your idle speed.
