i have an 03 le-

i was driving the car two days. somewhat hard. there were a few hard shifts. and yesterday i was driving the car lightly. 100% normal driving just on the highway cruising and the check engine light came on.

what are the possible reasons the light would come on for?
as in what error codes does the check engine light, come on for.

thanks

i called the dealer. the o2 sensors arent covered by warranty so im gunna go about changing this myself within the next day or so..
any suggestions on brands?

so far
genuine toyota parts are ~240+tax
someone suggested against bosch...

its bank one sensor one. and like people said its the one by the exhaust manifold.

Bank 1 sensor 1 is the O2 sensor closest to the engine (on exhaust manifold). How many miles on the car? I would be willing to bet that if you replace your bank 1 sensor 1 O2 sensor, the other code will go away, and your thermostat and coolant temp sensor are just fine.

I would stick with denso or NGK as far as O2 sensors go, I think they start @ $90. Stay away from "universal" sensors. Will you install it yourself or take it to the dealer? Let us know what happens.
hmm thanks,
theres 58 500 miles on the car. i thought the warranty was to 60k so i wanted to get the dealer to fix it but ill see how that goes. the car needs to go in for the recall anyway.
how bout bosch o2 sensors?
is that the one by the oil filter? i havent put the car on a lift yet so i havent seen the bottom really.

it depends what the dealer charges. most likely do it myself.

thanks

aright i had a friend read the code,

i got error code 135 - o2 sensor any idea which one? before or after cats?

i also got error code 125 - coolant temp is low
any idea if that means its the thermostat or the coolant temperature sensor?
