If we could keep this to reviews only, and no comments, it would be a nice resource for shoppers before the vehicles actually hit the dealers lots.

Nice honest review, BUT.......

One of our primary reasons for buying a Crown Signia is what it doesn't have, namely a Turbo power plant.

Even Toyota is having issues with the turbos, and as the owner of a Hyundai Turbo right now, I can tell you it'll be my last Turbo, unless and until the reliability improves dramatically.

I think Doug's point isn't that it doesn't have a turbo, but rather that people paying $10K more than a Venza probably prefer to get into a Lexus NX...I suppose this is a good problem for Toyota to have, there's so much cannibalization within so if one car suffers, another one gains.

Much like the Crown sedan, its built in Japan and intended for worldwide production. It doesn't depend on the US for the bulk of its sales. If the Avalon was like that it would still be in production. But yeah, I still think killing the Venza again was kind of a dumb move.

I also have a Hyundai turbo in the garage (the 1.6 turbo, not 2.0), though I still am waiting on the right time to buy another car to have on the side just in case things go bad with it. Knockin' on wood so far.

These have test drives

The designated test drive vehicle at Wilde is the Bronze Age over Black interior XLE, and yes that's the one I test drove. Agree completely on the Gloss Black on the exterior, but we'll get it wrapped with clear PPF so won't have to worry about it long term.

I've already seen $1,500-$3,000 off MSRP on both trims "advertised" ( on the web).. Check Kenosha Toyota, and Fox Lake Toyota in northern Illinois. I'm guessing you could do even better if you were trying.

If you are interested in that Bronze color- Wilde just discounted it by $3,150... you might be able to negotiate more. I don't think the Bronze color suits it very well myself, but some people might like it. XLEs in other colors seem to be discounted $1500.

Toyota of Fox Lake got our deposit yesterday on the one we wanted, Red/Tan Limited, with Advanced Tech package and a couple of small options. Only missing the Towing Package, but we'll find that somewhere else. Wilde screwed around enough refusing to move off the MSRP for long enough that we just stopped trying to deal with them.

Fox lake ended up at $48,532, or $3,603 off MSRP, delivery expected in December.

I love when these so called web reviewers compare the Signia to the Lexus NX. Years ago they did the same for the 2nd gen Venza and it was a fair comparison. Not so today.

Before laying out $50K for a Sig Limited I test rode the Lexus NX and Lexus RX because I had to see for myself. And I suggest that any potential buyers do the same. A matter of whether I believed a reviewer given a test car to play with, or my lying eyes, ears, and a$$! Size, level of luxury, tech and performance and tech are closer to the RX both of which have the tired look of a slope back Sedan/Venza. Sig excells in looks over the NX/RX......more like a smaller, sleeker version of the TX!

I don't think you are correct in your statement/complaint. The Crown has explosive cylinders at the hood hinges designed to mitigate any contact with a pedestrian, in addition to the standard Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 ACTIVE features:

Active Safety Features (Toyota Safety Sense 3.0):
  • Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection: Helps detect potential collisions with vehicles or pedestrians and can provide alerts and braking assistance.

  • Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control: Maintains a set speed and following distance, even in traffic.

  • Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist: Alerts the driver if the vehicle begins to drift out of its lane and can provide steering assistance.

  • Lane Tracing Assist: Helps the driver stay centered in the lane.

  • Road Sign Assist: Recognizes certain traffic signs and displays them on the instrument panel.

  • Automatic High Beams: Automatically switches between high and low beams based on oncoming traffic.

  • Proactive Driving Assist: Provides gentle braking and steering support in certain situations, like approaching a slower vehicle.

  • Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert: Alerts the driver to vehicles in their blind spot and when backing out of a parking space.

  • Safe Exit Alert: Warns occupants if it's not safe to exit the vehicle, like when a vehicle is approaching from behind.
Passive Safety Features:
  • Reinforced Body Structure: Designed to absorb and distribute impact forces in a collision.

  • Energy-Absorbing Crumple Zones: Help to reduce the energy transferred to occupants during a crash.

  • Comprehensive Airbag System: Includes front, side, curtain, and knee airbags.

  • Whiplash-Injury-Lessening Seats: Designed to reduce the risk of whiplash injuries.

  • LATCH System: Provides lower anchors and tethers for child safety seats.

  • Side-Impact Door Beams: Help protect occupants in side-impact collisions.
Other Notable Features:
  • Front and Rear Parking Assist with Automatic Braking (Optional): Helps prevent collisions when parking.

  • Rear Seat Reminder: Reminds the driver to check the rear seat before exiting the vehicle.

  • Collision Sensors: Deactivate the high-voltage battery in the event of a collision.

  • Anti-theft System: Includes an alarm and engine immobilizer.
