Well I was driving to get a movie last night and a van pulled in front me and i totalled my dads 3.2TL destroyed the whole left front of the car, cracked the windsheild all the front air bags deployed. one of the headlights was demolished but i was wondering if i got the ballasts out of the TL and bought a bulb could i install them in my 94 Camry?

Yes, It is possible to pull the ballasts out, and reuse them. However, the left one may not work since it may have automatically shut off from the impact. The capsules will not hold still, so you'll need to buy some rebased ones to fit the 9006 sockets for your '94 camry. Be forewarned, as your lights will not be remotely close to those of your dad's car in terms of output, color, glare, pattern, etc.

any idea how to get rebased bulbs to fit the 9006 and also why would the output and glare... be different?

thanks

Rebased capsules may be purchased here:

Pull out the D2S's and notice that the base is different than that of your 9006's. The notches aren't there so having them sit still in the headlamp out be a problem.

The output would be different because the headlamp ultimately determines how the light is tossed onto the road.

I apologize for not being specific. I just checked the site, and it doesn't look like they have a picture of a rebased capsule/bulb (they're used interchangably). But basically the difference between the two bulbs lie in the base, the part that snaps when you turn the bulb to put it in/out. Do as I suggested and take a look at the D2S and 9006 side by side. You'll see what I mean.
