yeah, it's fine. If you can sneak the loop under the plastic tab, even better.

 

I'd put the ground terminal between the screw and the washer. For a dashcam is perfectly fine, it only draws a few miliamps.

Since dashcam a only draw a couple amps, just about any screw that screws into metal will work. For my dashcam hardwire I used a factory ground screw that it in the little panel on the left of the footwell

 

I got the wire kit plugs into ODB port.

I have one more question. What voltage power cut off would you guys recommend? I’m assuming 12v would be the best?

 

You should measure what your voltage is like with the car on, and set it to whatever value is just below that. So if you are getting 12.2V with the car on, I would set it to 12.0. That is just to prevent it from draining the car battery. Most dashcams have an internal battery but it's ultimately up to how you want to set it up. If you want it always recording when you're away, then set it to 12 just so you're battery doesn't die. If your dash cam has a battery though, Just set it to whatever. I haven't ever seen a hardware kit that has both battery and accessory power lines.

 

thanks. I plan on mainly using the buffered parking mode and using the low bitrate recording for certain occasions, like taking the car to the dealership for service. The dash cam I have does not have a battery.

edit: I believe the only battery it has is a RTC battery.
