Anybody have an issue where you configure the three dash views and cluster settings but the changes don't save? Every time I turn off the car any custom config I made is lost. This problem already exist when I took delivery of the vehicle

There’s been a lot of complaints on the Toyota with this problem we’re not the only one. When I took delivery of the vehicle 2 weeks later I brought the car into the dealer an they don’t even know what to do but only did a hard reset. They told me that it will be noted an they have to have more complaints before anything else will go

So it sounds like the vehicle is not correctly loading your saved profile, OR, the items you set up and want repeated each time you drive, are specifically not included in the profile that is saved?

Doesn't the entertainment systems owners manual outline which settings are saved with each profile?

It would appear that this is a problem that we are all experiencing, so it has to be a model-wide software issue. I've already complained to Toyota Brand Engagement Center at (800)331-4331 and opened a case. I would suggest that you all file a complaint to open another case if you haven't already. I would think that if Toyota receives enough complaints that they will issue a software update to fix these problems sooner than later.

For me, 5 of the 6 windows remember my desired settings when I recall my profile, but one window is a hit or miss, and mostly it's a miss, and it's the same window every time. I need to reset it 4 out of 5 starts. I've tried storing the memory seats and profiles again once everything is set the way I want it, but nothing works to hold the settings.

My biggest complaint is that every time I start the car, the music defaults to the radio stations instead of my USB device. It should default to the last used input. It's irritating, but I've learned to just say "Hey Toyota, change the music source to the USB device" instead of turning on the radio and manually changing the input. At least the music starts like it should without touching any buttons.

Another one is the navigation display. It defaults to the 2D heading and zoomed out to the 4th zoom level, so I always need to change that one to my desired 3D heading and zoomed in to level 2. It should default to the last settings used. What's worse on this one is it isn't just when the car is turned on, it's anytime you select another feature and go back to navigation screen. Talk about frustrating.

Finally, I have noticed lately that I need to turn on the A/C manually ever time when I start the car. I just noticed this, but I don't recall if it's always been this way as I might not have needed the A/C the last few months and just didn't notice. Again, it should hold the last setting.

I believe everything I mentioned is just re-programming the car with updated software. Hopefully, Toyota will listen if everyone complains because it's ridiculous that every other car I've ever owned can hold the last settings used, but not this GH.

I knew I had this issue but I couldn't decide if I was imagining it, or if Toyota just had forced settings if you engaged certain driving features on the car.

I turned off a lot of the useless driver alert stuff, like the "coffee alert/take a break" thing, only to find that it would be back on when I checked it a few ignition-turns later. I was thinking maybe engaging radar cruise control caused some of that stuff to turn itself back on for safety.

After 4 months I now have a new problem. The screen show rear cameras normally while back up. But now shows rear views while driving forward the entire time. It doesn’t allow any other functions, not even radio. The dealer had never had this problem. His solution was to hold the radio power button until system resets. But have to do this every couple days. Anyone else experience this?

So, my 2024 Grand Highlander does this, took it in numerous times to figure out the issue, but they told me that they couldn't get it to recreate the issue so they couldn't fix it. However, there was a software update so took it in and asked them about it again, they said they would have to keep it overnight and talk to Toyota engineers. I got a response today that it is the characteristics of the vehicle and that nothing can be done.

GHH MAX here. 10.5K miles, no software updates. My only continuing issue is the TPMS. While all other display items "save", the TPMS doesn't. I tried that item in multiple locations, with no positive result. I will say there is a time limit though. For me, if TPMS is set in the right side of the 12in display, I can turn the car OFF, run into a store and if I come back out and crank before5-6min, the TPMS will stay set. I don't have a hard limit to report, but that's how it works for me.

I've got similar issue - tire pressure and north-up settings won't stick. Had 5k svc just yesterday, no new software available at this time. So much for the fix I thought was coming in Feb...
I have the compass selected as one choice. Some days it's there and some days it's not. No rhyme or reason.

And the email that it is a "characteristic" and nothing can be done is total BS.
Tire pressure and north-up settings still won't stick. We just let Drive Connect expire due to the latter - no such issues w/ Google Maps - set it once and it sticks.

Yes , I have the same problem its so annoying I've tried everything. I only got the car on Wednesday. If I new I was going to have this frustrating issue I would never chose it. Please tell me you have a fix for it.
One year in, still won't save aforementioned settings. Overall pleased with the car for family, but really??

Still waiting for a software update from Toyota to fix this issue... Please contact Toyota Customer Care and complain. The more complaints, the more urgency they might put on this problem.

I had the problem and for me the solution turned out to be re-establishing my Profile. It was all setup when I left the dealer and after a few months of being frustrated that my settings were not being saved, after a lot of research on my own, I discovered my Profile was gone. Now that it is back, my problem is gone.

Unfortunately, this is not a profile issue.

If you have the Limited or Platinum model, try adding the tire pressure display to one of your selectable windows. Even though you set it up with your active profile, the next time you start your vehicle after a couple of hours, the tire pressure display will need to be reset to your preference, even though your profile has loaded. I have found that if I restart the car immediately after shutting it down it holds, but not after a couple of hours. It's almost as if it only shows the tire pressure display at startup if the TPMS info is currently active. Maybe because at cold start it takes a minute for the tire pressure info to update that it doesn't display. Anyone have thoughts on this theory?

Supposedly, whatever customizable settings you select with your profile should save to your profile when the car is shut off. I have found that the tire pressure display does not hold on the gauge cluster, and the map display will not hold the last zoom or heading used. My radio will default to the FM input even though the last source used was USB, etc.

Everyone needs to complain to Toyota Customer Care so that they will come up with a software update to fix this issue.

RK: I have not setup a profile in this car. And I do think there's something to your "updating" comment, so could be the tire TX modules go to sleep after X time, the RX end in the car waits for a signal, doesn't get one, tells the dash I got nothing, dash drops the display item. On a semi-separate note, our 2009 Volvo wagon is in the shop for the TPMS system. The guy I bought the car from said it had a TPMS issue for years. I assumed it was because he was lazy and didn't have the system serviced/sensors replaced. Now he thinks it might be the car side RX vs the sensors. After all the above, I'm starting to get the feeling there's no software update fix for this due to too much hardware involved.

I think is a software issue or loading the profile. Try this method set your desired widget on the dashboard if it disappears on the next engine start up just power down the informative screen by long press on the power button the screen will go black and automatically turn back on. 8 out of 10 times it will load the widget back on the display.

Merry Christmas to all. I can report that somewhat greater than 6 to 7 minutes, this GHH MAX will not remember the TPMS system item in rightside #2 position of the 12in dash display. I cranked up normally, set the item and waited for the pressures to display. With pressures displayed, turned the car OFF and waited 5min. Cranked and info was there. Repeated at 6min with info. At 7min, the display defaulted to the battery status item.

I had the same issue with my car, where the custom settings for the dash views and cluster wouldn’t save after turning off the engine. I tried a few things—first, I reset the system, then checked for any available software updates. That seemed to help a bit, but it didn’t fully fix it. In the end, I had to bring it to the dealership, and they ended up doing a more thorough reset and reconfiguring the system, which finally solved the problem. If you haven’t already, it might be worth checking for an update or resetting it yourself first before going to the dealership.

Can you elaborate on this fix/procedure any further? Just had my 25k service done and asked (again) about this. I was informed (layman's terms) that there's a lack of memory needed to retain tire pressure as one of the (3x2=6) instruments, and failure to do so and having to reload it for every restart actually reflects "vehicle working to factory specs". Is it?
