Hello! Have had my 04 Siena lxe for bout a week. I noticed the little security light on the right side dash keeps flashing when I'm driving the car. Also sometimes the fob won't open the rear or passenger doors. Doors won't manually open either. This has happened a couple times. Key fob battery maybe?

Sorry not that familiar with the Sienna immobilizer/anti theft system.
Hopefully others will respond.

Question: the security light you are referring to has picture of car with lock or picture of car with key?
Trying to determine if this is a anti-theft/perimeter or immobilizer indicator.

Since you just got the car possible that key was programmed

Something you could try;

If the little red car with the key on it (aka security indicator) is flashing even AFTER you start the vehicle and stays on while driving, that means your vehicle is still in "programming mode" for keys.

To exit the vehicle from programming mode (i.e. stop it from flashing), you must:

Insert a recognized key. Rotate the key from the "off" to "on" position FIVE (5) times within TEN (10) seconds. The security indicator light (lil red car) should turn off after last turn.

Go ahead and start 'er up... the red light should not longer be blinking.

Yes it is a car and key symbol. Also, I was looking at the light in the daytime.
At night, when the key is out and car locked, the light is on steady. I can unlock the front doors and get in, the light stays steady. The minute I put the key in the light flashes and continues till I remove the key. Both passenger doors and tailgate are locked down and can't be opened manually or electronically.

...Sorta fixed!? I cycled the key as suggested. The security light behaves, passenger doors operate properly, the rear hatch unlocks but won't lift. I raise it manually and when I go to push it closed, it beeps at me and closes itself! So far so good. Anymore good advise?

Ok, glad it worked out.
Don't know what to say about the doors/hatch.
May have to do a physical inspection of the hatch mechanics/electrical.
Lots of info of door problems at the Sienna forums or google.

I appreciate the help. I really want to like this car. I'm a little gunshy because of my last car. 07 PT Cruiser. Fun car. A pain to work on, and the weirdest electrical issues I've seen on any car. Unfortunately it was totaled thanks to a hit n runner. I bought a 2008 Ford Edge, and was given the 04 Sienna. Was my mom's. She is quite short and has trouble reaching the controlls. So she bought a Jeep Liberty.

This car just keeps a makin me smarter.
Figured out my non opening rear hatch.
Little trick... Take the key fob. Find the rear hatch button. Do not press, but hold DAOWNNN. Till the thang beeps at ya and just like magic, it'll open. Do again and it goes t'other way. That's what happens when a hillbilly gets a hold of a fine modern piece of automation like this.
Know the difference tween a ******* and a hillbilly? ******* will eat a possum. A hillbilly has four good recipes.
I got three.
