well i decided to pull the trigger on debadging my truck. i must say that i love how it looks without the badges there. and without even polishing or waxing it, it already seems easier

i will suggest to anyone that is planning this, to use 10lb+ test fishing line. i used 8lb test, and it snapped frequently, and made it a pita.

now i just have to decide if i want to keep the TRD Off Road decals, or lose them as well. here's a pic of the final product.

Remove the horrid stickers! Anyone ever thought of putting a sport sticker on one side and a off road sticker on the other? If I saw that I would go freakin crazy trying to figure it out.

Could work with taco5 since hes got his offroad with sport hood and all. AHAHAHA the madness. Might as well throw a nissan emblem in front to and a hemi one in the back.

Looks great. I did this and left the TRD Off-road stickers on. Maybe I will take them off in the future but I kinda like 'em. Oh yeah, I tried fishing line first, but then I tried gardening twine and this was super easy. The twine didn't break and got most of the glue off. Then I pealed what I could off, and used Bug/Tar remover and now it's as smooth as... well, it's smooth

Does it make any difference on the age of the truck regarding debadging? In otherwords, does it become harder to remove the nameplates the longer they have been on the truck? Does the glue harden and become more difficult to get through?

I took all the badges off except the Tacoma on the tailgate.....much cleaner. Why does Toyota need all those badges in the first place. Too much plastic shit.

It shouldn't since its more a 3M type tape then a glue. I suspect after 5 years or so it'll get crusty maybe, but it shouldn't make a difference for how long these trucks have been out, even if yours has been sitting in the sun or cold.

Frist thing I did when I bought my Sport was get rid of those cheap, cartoon-looking TRD stickers! I think the chrome Tacoma badges look good if you happend to have other chrome on the truck like tube steps or clear corner headlights. When it came to the tailgate, I had to get rid of the clutter by ditching the TOYOTA and Prerunner badges. I wonder if I should ditch the SR5 and V6 emblems?

keep the V6 and dump the SR5. i plan on removing the SR5, TOYOTA, and PRERUNNER badges and leaving the TACOMA, and V6 badges on the truck.:)
