I get that. Safety message I guess. Kids, dog etc

 

Anytime you open the back door, before you start the car or during a ride, it will display that message when the car is turned off.

 

Pretty sure this is what's setting off the alerts.

 

As mentioned above it just alerts off the rear doors being opened. No sensor in the seat and since I don't have children or pets a useless message for me.

 

This is not an effective deterrent since endlessly repetitive messages tend to become easy to ignore over time...

 

It can be disabled as well....

 

Just curious, I've known folks who leave their rear seatbelts buckled at all times when no one is in the car... would this trip the message / any chance that is happening?

 

I don't think so as the message is not related to the seat belts. I'm thinking given the increasing number of drivers "forgetting" kids and pets in their cars, it was a reminder to check the back seat before exiting the car.

 

I do not get a message in the app, but I do not get one whenever I turn off the engine. I am aware it can be disabled but would rather keep it as I do find myself instinctively glancing behind and checking the seat whenever the message comes on.
