Door led strip

Hi guys I want to hardwire a couple of door strip leds which come on when the interior lights comes on, so basically when opening the door etc.
Is it ok to solder the positive and negative wires to bulb holder location? Then run the wire through the headliner down the plastic pillar to the door.

That won’t be ideal. Granted LED consumes less energy, but should protect the circuit with a fuse or relay. Doing it the way you’re describing, will cause issues.

There is a inline fuse attached to the negative wire. That would be ok wouldn't it?
